One thing I have found out about AT is that the damage markers have annoying habit of leaving off uninended. Need to be careful. Was thinking magnets could be solution but not sure how feasible that is.

a) how would one go around gluing magnets to cardboad anyway?
b) would the backside not be even be of trouble...Though maybe it's not that big of a deal if half of it is 1-2mm higher than the other?
c) considered magnetic sheets but those have warning not to use with magnets or the magnets demagnetize strips...Not good. Also bit pricey to cover entire terminal and if only parts would become issue of b.

Any other suggestions?

well there prolly is quite a few ways to do it.
the only idea i have right now in term of magnets is this.

you need some small magents and some steel plate strips.

you cut the plastic peg of the markers and glue a magnet (1x2mm is my guess) to them using locktite superglue or equal strong superglue.
then you drill out the holes on the cardbord terminal to match the magnet so they slot in.

since the terminal has 0 information on the rearside where the hulls are, you cut a piece of steelplate big enugh to cover the holes and glue it to the terminal with super glue.
that should be enugh magnetic force to keep the markers in their place as i see it.
the steel plate dont need to be thick, prolly 1 mm or less.

OR you can use a very cheap way that dont require ANY work: blu-tack.
a tiny pice under each marker should be more then enugh to keep them in their place.

I love magnets, really I do.
But... wouldn't a sheet of cork behind the terminal and regular push-pins be easier?

I really don't know how they look, but maybe this could work?

I'd also wait a bit, I can guarantee several companies will release MDF or acrylic dashboards with solutions to this question.

Could of sworn i already saw some one make game templates out of etched metal but for the life of me i cant remember who.

if its that much of a pain id say photo copy the template onto normal paper then spray glue it onto a steel sheet and use those magnetic push pin type thing as a maker.

or laminate them and just use dry erase pens to mark stuff.

I have magnetized my terminals. I used 2x1mm magnets. I covered the holes on the back with tape, set the magnet in place (using a bigger magnet on the back to set the correct polarity) and used a drop of loctite to hold it. Once dried I then plugged the hole with some Vallejo plastic putty to keep the magnet there. The putty is white, so when that dried I hit it with a sharpie (green, yellow, orange and red).

If I were to do it again I’d maybe use 2x2 discs instead.

Easiest - glue the command terminal to a sheet of steel paper and use the magnets Desubot has in his post.

However, that makes the back of the terminal look gak. You could try peeling the command terminal apart, and sandwiching the steel paper in between the peeled halves.

The method a friend of mine used: 3mm magnets fit in the punched holes - they might not even need gluing if you push them in from behind. Then glue magnets to the back of the plastic tokens.
