Consolidated SM codex would mean that Black Dragon would be able to roll proper Dragon Claws, but space wolves and blood angels would complain SO SO much about how unfair it is that wulfen and death company have to share their rules with each other, and even worse with the Black Dragon nobodies, under the common "mutated close-combat marines".
Similarly White Scars would have access to the fast tanks of the blood angels and to the elite bikers of the dark angels which would be SO UNFAIR, because then the Mongol-inspired Space Marines would be allowed to be FAST, and that's bad!

Speaking as a collector of one of the special snowflake chapters, I really think there's a big misunderstanding of what many of us want. For myself at least, I couldn't care less if other chapters got my stuff. Sure, I'd like it to be a little different to give everyone their own unique flair, rather than just having a different paint job, but I'm all for super fast White Scar tanks, shredding, close combat Dragon Claws and whatever you want to take from my chapter. What I don't want is for the fifty or so pages of background and lore that we've been given over the years to become a footnote in Codex: Ultramarines & friends. By all means, give the Iron Hands, White Scars & Raven Guard fifty pages of the same. I just don't see why I have to lose something that I'm happy for others to gain.

And as I've said elsewhere, I'd love to see a consolidated, all chapters book that's all crunch and no fluff, so long as it's not mandatory. I just want everyone to have their cake.

"Sigh" Nope I own and use large Space Wolves, Dark Angels, Ultramarines, Sisters, Knights and Guard armies. Plus various bits and peices for other Imperial forces.

All the lore is pretty much repeated in each Codex - you and I already have it. Its why i have stopped buying some of them

INQUISITION (or relative models) has a mediocre player base and a lot of models for Adeptus ministorum etc or something equivalent nowadays (I think inquisition will be separate from our SOB but, fuk them the Inquisition, relies on ducks being wooden and people being as heavy as them...)
