Has Forge World ever made an ork Gargant (and rules) for 40k?
Not a Stompa of some sort, a true Gargant.

Don’t think so.
Armorcast made a Great Gargant I think.
Generally only the Imperium and Chaos generally get the big stompy robots

Yeah, Armorcasts Gargant/Great Gargant. That's what I've got in storage. Took it in trade some years back while not actively playing 40k. Now that I've returned, & with the Orks having a shiny new book, I was pondering that maybe come Jan. putting something on the field that no one at the current shop has ever seen (besides orks in general) on a table.

Eldar got the Phantom Titan (and another one whose name escapes me), and Tau relatively recently got the Tau'nar, so it wouldn't be too much of a stretch to expect them to make an Ork Gargant at some point. Heck, I think even Tyranids have some kind of Titan equivalent (Heirophant?).

I can see why they wouldn't invest in making one when many ork players would just build their own rather than spend a ton of money on the model.
I sure would like it if they made one though, or even Open Play rules for them without official models.

When Adeptus Titanicus finally gets around to introducing Xenos titans I suspect that'll be when FW introduces a 40k Gargant model if it's ever going to happen, as they can scale the CAG model up to make the mold.

Think a gargant would be a silly amount of resin though so less likely.
did wonder on trying to built a slasher gargant though, stumbling block #1 is how big to make it, figure the stompa is about 50% larger than it should be so about 50% bigger than it actually is would be about right.
no one locally would ever play against it though

They did say a long time ago before the eldar phantom that they would love to make a gargant but it would have to be good, lots of interior detail and huge and they weren’t sure if they would ever get round to it due to time cost and technical abilities. They said it was bottom of the list after imperial and eldar and all the HH stuff they were starting on.
Like I said this was a long time ago and I haven’t heard a thing since. Can’t see it happening. But they did do the warlord and are running out of heresey to do. I can dream also I think I’d like to see the ORK range filled out with more tanks and walkers before a gargant I could never afford.

Not really. Sizes are comparable to imperial and they would be empty inside likely

Make a slasha shorter than a reaver Titan and a great gargant similar night to a warlord. ORKS don’t have STCs so there is no hard and fast rule. No two would be indebtical. I’m planning a great gargant build using blue foam but not sure it’ll ever get started.

Empty inside is missing out on so much opportunity for interior details and removable parts given what the inside is meant to be full of, a model full of empty voids would be so sad

If I remember correctly, back when they did the Reaver they stated their intentions were Phantom, then maybe a Warlord, then (very small chance and a long ways off if ever) a Gargant. Reason being that size, number of parts, and interior detailing would be hard.
Heck, they had to scrap interior detail for most of the Warlord for weight and cost reasons.
BTW, I won an ebay auction a couple years ago. I got an Armorcast Great Gargant head (and only a head) for $9. Always wanted to stack a few upside-down bowls together to make a body.

I'm sure ork players can live without interior details you don't see anyway if it means gettrng gargant vs not. Or not having to pay hundreds for it

If we're talking Gargants, then a Mekboy Gargant would be pretty cool.
I mean, there's no way we'd ever see a Mega Gargant, unfortunately, but the smaller ones could happen at some point, maybe.

Well great gargant is shorter than warlord so up to that is possibility. And mega gargant isn't that much bigger than warlord. Iirc 35m vs warlord 32m

Your best bet is to build one out of foam core and sector mechanicus bits on a 3 ft. X 3 ft. Board as a Necromunda/Kill Team scenery.
I can imagine some interesting scenarios - From enemy teams infiltrating the Gargant to hunt down da boss or rig the main boiler to blow, to squads of orcs coming into conflict trying to control the Garant (“Youz Boyz better keep dem Bloodskulz from da Armory or tha boss’ll Have yer snoot!”, “Ey, Right Foot control - the big fight is this-a-way, not that-a-way!”, “Mek Daggit says we gotta pri-or-it-tize reloading tha belly buster, even if dat means we gotta shove Snitz’s boyz into da gun chamber”, “Whot ya mean, my boyz can’t hit the broad side o’ a humie? You boyz couldn’t krump a Tau inna fistfight!”)

I'd like to see a Forgeworld Gargant.
I'm curious to see if the Stompa's new low point total makes Big Ork Walkers popular again. Maybe if it does that will also drive GW on making something bigger.

I got the opportunity to paint one of the Armorcast Gargants as part of a commission a million years ago. It's still one of my favorite things I ever painted. I should point out that the scheme isn't mine, I copied it from one of the old Epic Great Gargants in some GW publication.

Yep, that's the model I was wondering about - though the guy I got mine from was a considerably worse painter & tried some awful red/black Goff scheme on the poor thing.
But as I wasn't actively playing 40k, let alone orks, at the time, even stripping it has been on the furthest back burner.
