Hi guys, as the title states im looking for a good case to help me transport my army. Since i didnt want to spend that much buying the crusade case, i found some Feldherr cases that seem good to me. The problem is that im not too sure about how big the case should be, considering that army size and composition could change a lot... Do you have any advice? Thanks.

I think we need more info, really. How big is your army going to be and what Faction?
2K of Custodes will need a case in a wildly different size to 2K of a Tyranid/Cultist/Renegade horde, for example.
Generally speaking, I swear by Battlefoam.

Battlefoam and KR Multicase seem to be the two most popular replies that I've seen on a few forums. Both are more expensive than the crusader (here in the States). Black Friday Sales should be announced soon. I'm not familiar with the Feldherr stuff. Others might be able to help if you offer some army details.

GW zigzag case like the crusader are great for odd infantry models, though you should avoid metal infantry all on 1 tray.
Battlefoam are great for armies like dark eldar or chaos with spikey fragile bits. They have their sale on Black Friday and 4th of July.
KR multicase are great for versatility and affordability. Their website was kind of a mess when I bought from them couple years back, and their foam cutouts are fairly crop cut leaving no room for antennas and the like sticking out. Good for boxy armies like tau, IG, marines.
Pluck foam cases you can find with many companies, I have army builder. Big models(flyers, battlewagon, cerastus knight)that takes too much space I use excess foam leftovers, packaging air bubbles, bubble wrap in a plastic lidded case suitable for the size.

Thanks for the answers. I have space marines, guards, and im currently starting Dark Eldar/ Harlequins, so what i need may change a lot depending on what i play. Is there something like a universal case? I mean, can i just buy a case and then change the inside so that it fits the army im willing to play?

Absolutely. The way KR and Battlefoam work is that you buy a case, or a bag, and then you fill it with foam trays.
Again, I like Battlefoam so I'm going to recommend the P.A.C.K. 720 bag, which can hold up to 12.5" of the Battlefoam Large (BFL) foam trays which are 15.5" wide and 12" long and come in a variety of depths.
https://us.battlefoam.com/720-p-a-c-k-720-molle-bag-empty-black/
They have pre-cut trays for specific models, general-use trays and pluck-foam trays that you can customize.

If you have eggs, sure
The problem with custom-foam cases is the amount of foam per model.
A KR Multicase case could hold 4x Space Marine drop pods, or 360 space marines.
Places like KR will take a list of models you have and tell you which foam trays to order. Then, you just sort out which cases to put the trays into.

Seriously?
At the risk of coming off like a fanboy, Battlefoam's Drop-Pod tray has a depth of 6.5", but it holds eight of them so you could, at a pinch, fit sixteen of them into a P.A.C.K. 720.
Or 720 Guardsmen.

It’s one of the restrictions of the KR system. While they do have deeper trays, everything is pretty much set to some fraction of one “KRU” deep. This lets you swap out tray-filled cardboard boxes easily into your bags. Due to this, the only way to fit pods into the standard size box is on their sides, while the battlefoam’s deeper tray can have them upright, where they pack tighter.
On the flip side, KR’s softer foam is more forgiving if your models aren’t precisely the size of the slots in the tray.
Pros and Cons to both companies. I’m a big fan of KR myself, but will admit that there are some armies that benefit from other companies.

Ok guys, i still got some doubts: battlefoam seems a really nice company that has almost anything i could need, but, the 720 bag alone costs more than 100€, plus all the foam needed it will cost way more than 200, and im not sure about the shipping to Italy... Why should i buy it instead of a Crusade case which is designed by gw for gw and costs way less, or a Feldherr case, that costs wayyyy less?

I don't know anything about Feldherr, so can't comment, but you'd buy the 720 over the GW case because it's not a poorly-made piece of tat. The GW cases are and always have been.
There are cheaper bags, the 720 was just my guess. Perhaps a 432 would suffice?
Battlefoam's foam is also a better quality and won't snag your minis and rip. Also, you can use it to transport Flyers and other large or irregularly shaped minis which you can't really do with the GW foam.
Please note I'm not trying to direct you towards Battlefoam so much as I am trying to direct you away from GW.

Feldherr foam is not as dense as battlefoam, but its soft, and the cases are light. My only issue is they seem to come in one size, with various foam inserts, and none of them fit a ton (except infantry) so they don't work well for lots of vehicles or oddly shaped monsters

The GW cases are decent, but terrible if you want to transport/store anything other than basic infantry.
Custom foam is great for tanks and weirdly shaped, so I can't recommend the likes of Battlefoam/KR enough. I couldn't transport Mortarion any other way.

"Courage and Honour. I hear you murmur these words in the mist, in their wake I hear your hearts beat harder with false conviction seeking to convince yourselves that a brave death has meaning.
There is no courage to be found here my nephews, no honour to be had. Your souls will join the trillion others in the mist shrieking uselessly to eternity, weeping for the empire you could not save.
To the unfaithful, I bring holy plagues ripe with enlightenment. To the devout, I bring the blessing of immortality through the kiss of sacred rot.
And to you, new-born sons of Gulliman, to you flesh crafted puppets of a failing Imperium I bring the holiest gift of all.... Silence."

Still, how much a 432 case, with various foam, would cost me?

I do prefer softer foam, so I stick with KR.
Comments about the fiddly bits not fitting is easily fixed: Rip the foam. I have models with spears, staves or banners. A quick tear on the foam, and it slots straight in. It does not affect the stability of the tray, as it is pretty flexible already.
Their cases and bags are all based around the 1-box depth. The bags hold so-many box per size (Backpack4 holds 4 boxes), and the metal cases hold the same amount of foam, stacked up instead of per cardboard box.
