What are you guys' hopes and predictions for the next loyalist primarch? I initially wanted the Lion, but then I realized that would mean a sort of repeat of Calgar's arc with Azrael as the iconic chapter master gets pushed to the side by the primarch, both in lore and tabletop. While that's interesting as an arc, I don't think we need it repeated in the immediate future.

So I'm hoping personally for Corvus Corax. The Raven Guard see a lot of play but don't have much chapter-specific content, so giving them a primarch seems a logical choice. While Shrike might get displaced like Calgar or Azrael, since he's such a new chapter master and not as iconic the effect would be less severe, not to mention that Corax just doesn't seem as autocratic as Guilliman or the Lion to me. Vulkan would also be nice, as there's good lore-justification and it means the Salamanders might see some more play.

well they're blatantly coming back.

Realistically it'll be one of the more well known ones. Don't expect any others before Russ and the Lion are back. They both have their own chapters that are stand-alone books and they both have no powerful fluff reason for them not to turn up again (unlike poor Mr sanguinius)

I have to agree. And to give a little explanation, I think primarchs being fielded so much kind of ruins the setting. 'Primarchs' have always been god like warriors who when they do show up, cut swaths through the field of battle.

Now I see them in every UM/DG/TS list.

Vulkan makes sense and would be cool - especially since his Chapter is so often ignored by GW

Pesonally I can't stand Lion El'Jonson so hope he stays asleep or whatever

Leman Russ would be interesting but given what they have done to Wolves I shudder to think what he would look like.

Corvax could also be interesting.

I think you can come up with good arguments for any of them sides RG coming back at this point even the dead ones. Just apply handwavium, and plot armor, and they are back.

I expect from a hyper perspective, that your going to see some of the HH books winding down eventually, and a push to move the Dark Imperium story forward, and that is where you get the Loyalist Primarchs coming back and more of the Chaos renegade primarchs moving back to the galactic stage.

I'm kind of hoping for a massive balkanization of the Imperium after the Emperor dies as each Primarch is back or comes back to take a share. You have RG holding Ultmar, Lemon Russ holding a few planets over there, Lionel has a few over here, Mortaian kicked out of the Eye of terror for nastyness, and has some over here, Left handed Dorn with some Imperial Fists over there, Magnus and Propero back and fueding with the pups again, Terra swallowed in the warp locked up till the Emperor can be reborn now he is deaded.

That kind of thing. It would make the game better, and solve some of the soup stuff.

Logically, it shouldn't be a Primarch of a chapter that shares the same codex as Ultramarines.
Magnus and Morty are in different books, after all.
My bet would be on the Lion or Russ

Also, Angron and Fulgrim seem very likely to eventually make an appearance. When they do, it would be odd if there were no other Loyalist Primarchs.
I don't think Bobby G can handle all 4 Daemon Primarchs by himself

Somewhere over the rainbow, way up high

Its gonna be

LION
LEMON PLEDGE (Dual Human/Werewolf Kit)
and
Sanguinius.

Wanna know why?
They have ARMY BOOKS, and full armies for them to support.
Lets be logical here.

Yes, Sanguinius is totally Dead....they'll find a way. I'd prefer Vulkan over him, but it won't happen.

Corax or Vulkan are my hopes. Out of all the 'vanilla' Marines, they're the two most likely able to come back.

Sanguinus is dead and they're going to keep it that way in all likelihood. There's a chance for an 'Avatar of Sanguinius' but I can't see them going beyond that.
Lion's woken up it seems but isn't getting out of bed.
Leman Russ will show up when he pleases. Probably when Angron does.

More Primarchs are the only hope for the Imperium.

Oh yes, hope: well I hope The Lion is next. Want to see how DA continues.

I can see Russ returning but I'm really hoping for Vulkan, all the Orks spilling out from Gorks Grin with the resultant Waaaaagh! energy drawing him from wherever he is.

Hopefully Fulgrim will be next so the IIIrd legion can get some supersexynoisynastysexiness.

I think the Sanginator will suddenly not disappear and then be found out that it was Sanguinus's soul that wandered the Warp for 10 centuries and then became so powerful it materialized a new body.

I can only hope he gains the Demon Keyword.

Give me the Lion. Then we can have a proper Fallen faction led by Luther and a Fallen daemon prince. Having a good R+H force would be useful too as I would see the Fallen manipulating to their will.

So basically in reverse order..

R+H codex.
Fallen Codex or mini-data sheet in a dual boxed game.

fething ridiculous.

It's going to be something like the soul of Sanguinius is in the Sanguinor and he has to reconnect with his body or some junk like that.

As someone who plays Wrath And Glory and loves a good chaotic mess, I approve of this. Would be great to have balkanization, although they'd really have to resolve the tyranids in some way which I doubt many nid players would like, as the last time I checked their lore was basically "if the Imperium doens't get itsshit together ASAP they gonna eat everyone." Similarly for Ghazzy if he ever becomes The Beast v2.

I play blangels, and I really don't want Sanguinius coming back.

What will actually happen.

Generic characters disappearing? Elite units of your army losing options and customizations? No longer finding that motivation to convert?

I want the Eccliesiarch to decide that all these Primarchs are not acceptable. Reign of blood 2.0 could be fun. I really think they missed a trick with some people not being so accepting of the Imperial Regent.

Thanks! I think that with Nids/ Orcs they should do the Demon Devil war of D&D. Orks and nids locked into a ball of fighting rage making there own super dangerous area, Eye of terror style. So over there, Eye of Terror, over there, The 500 light year across Ork Nid ongoing war, with Periodic Waaghs and Nid Tendril feeders splintering off and impacting all other realms around.

Which have been established as being active in the fluff for nigh on ages (except Mortarion. That was a retcon in the 5th ed GK codex. feth Mortarion) and not missing nor dead. The Imperium is built on the whole fact of "all your heroes are dead" their time is over. The end times are now and this is where heroes of our own making come to be made. But no, we had to have the nonexistant-u-until-recently story advance as apparently a span of time greater than recorded human history so far on a galactic scale of untold trillions of stories to be told was "bland and boring" and now we get a story focused on a dozen or so characters that are inexplicably everywhere in a galaxy.
