Hi, as per the thread title, anyone know what size base comes with the current version Tyranid Warriors?

I am paint stripping and rebuilding some old 2nd ed ones which came with a square base but I want to re-base them on to whatever the standard base size for them is now.

Cheers is advance.

They got bumped up to 50mm when they had their most recent resculpt.

I will stick them on 50mm then.

I know people say there is an advantage to having smaller bases so I will go 50mm then no one can complain.

I dont mind them being on a slightly larger base anyway.

I do not in fact think this is true. Howeve, they where on that in the sett Tyranids vs Blood Angels. People please correct me. The carnifexes are on the oval bases in that sett as well.

On the GW website they've been updated to be on 50mm bases but the Carnifexes are still on round bases.

In all honesty it doesn't matter. The only thing GW have to say on the matter is models should be based on the base they came with. Now what this means has been open to interpretation over the years but each has their own advantages and disadvantages especially in this edition of aura buffs etc. where it wont extend out as far if you put a model on a smaller base than the stock ones have for example.

They're shown on both in webstore.

For what it's worth, I've bought two boxes within the last couple months (both with the newer box art and options for the Prime) and both boxes came with 40mm bases.

Same here, 40mm for two boxes bought in Nov.

ETA the website shows both and the 50mm looks really big on them in my opinion. The description doesn't say which size they come with.

It is legal to use both bases. So knock yourself out.

Yup I did check before making this thread, exactly why I asked.

Hmmmmm, it seems that actually a lot of them came on 40mm, so I will also get some of those then maybe eyeball it when I am putting together the models.

Thanks for the replies though.

IMO the 50mm looks to large but the 40mm is slightly small now that the trend is not to have the base just big enough for the feet.

45mm would be perfect...

Anyone know what base size you should use for Ripper Swarms?
