"Never afraid of extreme measures, Angron had let slip his World Eaters in the most vicious way imaginable. Remus had once heard his primarch say that Angron’s Legion could succeed where all others would fail because the Red Angel was willing to go further than any other Legion, to countenance behaviour that any civilised code of war would deem abhorrent. Seeing what had been done to Prandium, Remus understood completely. This was no honourable war, this was butchery and destruction embodied. The primarch’s great work could surely never have contemplated war with so terrible a face." Pg.32 Age of Darkness

This quote shows other Legions were horrified at how brutal Angron was, but why? They can be ruthless as well, just not as much as Angron and Kurze.

And Remus is a Marine, not a civilian.

Why are you essentially starting the same thread again?

It's like I'm living in a circular timeline...

Its a different question. I am asking why other Legions were horrified at Angron's actions. The other question was why the Emperor didn't punish Angron (he only chastised Angron in the Forgeworld books for committing an atrocity, and nothing else)

Expand on what you say? My quote shows other Legions were horrified at Angron brutalizing planets, and I wanted to know the reason for it.

Because in the military culture of the observer, wholesale massacres are considered as horrible and not a thing to do. Their rules and traditions in war prohibit such sort of actions. They were raised in a society that doesn't glorify brutality and encourage it. The World Eater do. Exposed to a culture whose value a so different, they suffered from a cultural shock. What they thought unthinkable was done regularly be others. Algonqiens and Hurons were shocked and appaled when they first seen French people hit their children to discipline them. In their culture, hitting a child was frowned upon. In France, it was sign of a good discipline.

Its not like other Legions ask planets to join the Imperium or force them to join and slaughter soldiers on the planets even if they give up.

*sigh* You were getting closer to an actual discussion with the other threads you started, but you simply can't seem to resist revisiting the same topics can you?

Also, isn't cultural shock a self-evident answer? If you live in a different culture, you are likely to hold different beliefs and values than one that has never had contact with yours (i.e. prior to globalization) so once you guys meet, you have culture shock, look it up my one-thing minded man.

This is different question. The other question was why the Emperor did not do more to punish Angron and only chastised him in the Forgeworld books for an atrocity.

Which is essentially the same question just asked in a different way.

I asked in another thread why the Emperor only chastised Angron in the Forgeworld books for an atrocity. I asked why other Legions were horrified at Angron's actions here. Different question.

In a similar vein to how "which way to the shop?" and "how do I get to the shop from here?" are different questions. Different but only in a strict literal sense.

Yeah, I think this has all been pretty thoroughly hashed out by this point.
