Tactically speaking, in post CA Imotekh a good HQ choice?

If you are taking an Overlord normally, and want to MWBD at least two units, he is worth it over a regular overlord.
he's got a better melee profile, adds 1 CP is harder to kill, and his MWBD and Storm Ability all for about 60 points more is really good.
Also, you are more than welcome to post in the Necron Tactics thread so you don't have to create a new thread for every question.

You know, I see these mega threads, but I don't find them as useful. A responsible person does some research, then asks a question if they couldn't self-service an answer. To me, that's googling a question, searching the forums, reading what other people have asked and answered. I definitely do NOT want to have to read through 130 pages of a thread to see if anyone has asked or answered this question, nor do I want to post a question in a 130 page thread that has a slim chance of getting answers in.
Thus has been my limited experience with those massive threads where I've asked questions.
I don't blame OP for asking here. I wonder if the rise of the 40k subreddits over the last few years has been because Dakka doesn't provide a suitable means to search, filter, and discuss things like this, and compressing into a mega thread like doesn't provide easily referenced cues to check in to see if a question has been answered, or if you have been responded to.

The converse effect is that these threads die quite quickly, while the information can be kept in the tactics threads and found and digested by people that go through them later. The search feature on Dakka is not very optimized, I agree with you here, so finding random threads like this can be challenging at times. I don't really follow the 40k or AOS subreddits, as I have found them pretty lacking compared to Dakka and TGA.
The Necron Tactics thread has been pretty receptive to all questions so far, and has had several good questions surrounding it. So I'm not sure why you think you will have a slim chance of getting answers. I can't speak to the other threads. Additionally, the chapter approved changes and current questions are relatively new- about 15 days old so you don't need to read 130 pages. It's closer to about 15.
