Hasbro finally completes its long planned purchase of GW, and Kirby is put back in charge.

Rountree is hired by Mantic.

The rights to Sedition Wars are bought by Battlefront, who will be producing a new version that is compatible with the rules for Flames of War.

Plus this^^

Oh.. And GW brass realize that primaris marines only served to dilute their brand so that they retcon the entire release and all the weenies get upgraded to 2 wounds. Aggressors become termies with double flamers and rievers become scouts in silly masks. This 2019 sees GW returning the world to rightness and glory.

In an effort to reinvigorate the dwindling player base Hasbro / Wizards of the Coast will be printing the Vintage Masters set that was originally a Magic: The Gathering Online only release. The Vintage Masters (Bonus) cards (a.k.a. The Power Nine) will be included as foil "lottery cards". The odds of finding one are 1 in every 6 booster boxes.

Within the release of the sisters codex, we discover the existence of Soritas Traitorous, with cults dedicated to Khorne, Tzeentch, Slaanesh and Nurgle. GW releases the entire line, led by Archcanoness nun other than Mad Donna in place of Adeptus Soritas because “they already have an existing, well-defined line”.

Squats are re-released, using the leftover older tactical marine kits and beardy Space Wolf heads. All other ranges will be scaled up accordingly over the next decade.

GW are releasing Command Point tokens; a pack of 6 for £28.

WHFB will be announced as a stand-alone specialist game.

Grey Knight players will be offered up as blood sacrifices to Sisters of Battle players, to quell their frothing as the new range release nears.

My working theory is it's set a century in the future. Ryder is obviously an aged scientist performing illegal genetic and cybernetic experiments to make the Patrol, while constantly transplanting his brain into young clones (that's why his voice changes every season). Humdinger is a lesser scientist making inferior cyber beasts. Ryder implanted Goodway's daughter's brain into a chicken as leverage over her and it causes a psychotic break on her part.

Outside of Adventure Bay civilization has collapsed, which is why there's no one else to call on than the PP. Each surviving city is a sovereign state which is why they can never lock up Humdinger.

Also the climate has collapsed, which is how Adventure Bay is in driving distance of a steamy jungle, snow topped mountains and the arctic.

Is this even a question?

The GE had 2 million worlds yes, but a grand total of 2 psykers and a fleet that was overly fond of crashing into one another and could not seem to hit a tramp freighter with 2 Star Destroyers.

It lasted about 20 years collapsing after the death of it's quite mortal Emperor.

The IoM would run roughshod over it and their tiny little 1 mile long ships in a weekend.

GW will see how much of their new releases sell out and acknowledge their production facilities aren't large enough to match demand. As such they will either raise prices to ensure the new product is sold for maximum profit as it sells out regardless or will extend their site at Lenton to include new production facilities to ensure sufficient stock is produced to maximise sales that can be captured at the current price point...

Or both!

GW realizes they've cocked up everything and returns to WHFB and retcons Primaris out of existence. Scraps 8th edition and realizes that Templates and tokens rock the universe and watering down their game to try to broaden their audience was a bad move, as bad as hasbroing.

In addition they lower prices 10% in recognition of their price gouging and publicly apologize for being right rat bastards and greedy gits.
