Hi guys,

since I got my Vanguard Kickstarter (i think i actually even started a bit earlier) I worked on a small Kings of War campaign that has the vanguard system integrated.
meaning, i created a campaign tree, chose scenarios, wrote the fluff, put in the ilustrations in, created the map...

it totals 31 pages.
you get a total of 6 Vanguard games and 3 Kings of War games out of it. and depending on who wins what, the story unfolds.

i've not played it yet, but am looking forward to doing it. though i already know the endings

you can take a look at it / download it here:

or as PDF

i realized that i am a bit rusted in writing non-technical english text, therefore i am happy for any corrections / suggestions esp. by native speakers.
I think I especially had my trouble with what to write with capital letters. "Elven settlement" or "elven settlement"...

too bad I wasn't able to put it up on the mantic forum before they closed it, but i lamented that there already anyway

one more thing:

because i refuse twitter and facebook while much of mantic activity seems to be at that place, one member of the mantic forum offered to post the finished campaign on the mantic facebook pages.
i don't know how, but it seems I have lost his contact information!

So if anybody of you could be so kind to post it there and confirm here that it found its way there... i would appreciate it

I'm always up for a good narrative campaign. I am looking it over right now, I think that in the context of the fluff parts "elven settlement" would be correct. Words like "goblin" "elven" and "niece" don't need to be capitalized since they aren't proper nouns.

realism is a lie

Scanned through this and will download it for reading later, but I am really impressed with the production values, good job! Looks like a classic little fantasy campaign!

I'm impressed with the quality of the campaign! though I don't play vanguard (yet) myself, I see a nice 2 players campaign rolling over.

Would you allow me to repost it on my blog?

thanks for that comment. I did capitalize it after I saw that Mantic capitalizes it in their books. So for me it made sense to write things like "...and they attacked the Evles" but did not catch any part where their content says something like "... and they attacked the e/Elven settlement" so I couldn't stick to anything there

thanks. I partly did it because I was curious to know how much effort it is to make this in a way that it also looks kinda nice. but i finally decided to not do it with a professional layout-software because I didn't want to spend money for it (i'd rather get more models stored everywhere in my flat) and the open source alternatives i found were... hard to understand, so i finally wanted to check how much i could do with plain google docs. it kinda bothers me that i do not have any background image, but altogether I also like the quality it turned out.

A friend of mine and me are now playing the campaign. I am using the "old" rules for Goblins though.
After much preparation and a preparation game, we now made our first "official" campaign game which is the Supply Grab Vanguard mission! The second game (Scenario: Light the Beacon) is planned for the 1st of July.
For anybody interested, you can read about it in detail at http://cisharp.blogspot.com.

I hope we are able to complete the "A corner of Mantica" campaign this summer, hopefully before the new campaign rules hit the shelves!

But we already I have an odd situation in the campaign after the very first game:

The "Leader" unit of the elves (that at the same time is the single COMMAND unit in the Vanguard Company) got a "miss next game" injury result. He cannot afford to buy a new Prince, because so early in the campaign the campaign gold is still scarce!
We therefore concluded he will need to use a command mercenary in the next mission! I will therefore need to assemble and paint Blaine to be ready for the first of july...

Too bad that "Biggit Crunchem", the named Goblin hero of the campaign now has a permanent "Old Wounds" injury. And that after the very first mission! That was probably the worst roll that I could get... but we will stick with it!
