Good work and congratulations on the publication.

Questions if I may:
1) What model scale(s) are we talking here? 28mm models etc or a ruleset that encompasses various scales

2) Can the battle scale be increased? 50 / 500 / 5000 models per side etc?

3) What's the system by which it functions (assuming dice?), are we looking at D6, D12, D20 or a mixture?

4) I don't have a number 4 so, well done again!

- I play with 28mm single based models BUT the rules are scale, base, and model agnostic. You only need to be able to tell if a unit is in Loose formation or a Phalanx. Then, all measurements are in generic base widths (which can be any measurement you want) and it is good to designate a "leader" as a point of measure.

2) Can the battle scale be increased? 50 / 500 / 5000 models per side etc?

- Typically play with a unit being 10 28mm models, but it could just as easily be multi-based models or other combinations since the game is Unit vs. Unit based with no model removal.

3) What's the system by which it functions (assuming dice?), are we looking at D6, D12, D20 or a mixture?

- Yes, it uses standard d6 as I tend to think of dice as a barrier to entry so stick with bog standard d6. It is good to have a a handful of them.

4) I don't have a number 4 so, well done again!

- Thanks. You didn't ask but I will add a typical game has 5-8 units per side and plays in about 1 to 1.5 hours.

Congratulations. Been a fan of your stuff since stumbling across Aquanautica Imperialis. I've got loads of 3mm Hoplites, perhaps these are the rules I am looking for. Do you have a rough idea of how many men each base is meant represent (rather than how many models are on it)? With 3mm I might be able to accurately represent the number of men on the base if sufficiently small.

Wow! Since Aquanautica Imerialis! That is a very long time. Thank you.

The game is scale agnostic so I did not bother to figure out how many real people 1 model represents. Whatever number works for you, your army, and your fellow gamers.

Congratulations always nice to read new such publications. If it holds the standard of your previous works I will be a happy man. Any plans for making a book or such for the viking era and that time in history?

Thank you.

I have mostly been keeping in the Ancients category with some projects in the Successor Period, Early Rome, and Early Iron Age. Now that you mention it Vikings and Shieldwall warfare could fit in nicely!

Well those eras are intresting and makes for good background material so I understand that very well. Yes it would be intresnting to see your take on it, thus far I have been using the Hail Caesare rules and its equals to sate my need for viking related warefare

I have been getting a lot of questions about units in the game, so I put this together to help people start building their forces.

I just sent some stuff to Wargame, Soldiers, and Strategy Magazine. Apparently, the May issue will be all about Ancient Greek combat. Should be fun!

There have been many questions about basing..... unlike many rulesets, this is a base agnostic system. It will work no matter how you base. Here is why, it is a unit-vs-unit system, does not have model casualty removal, and uses generic measurements in the form of base widths. Therefore, it doesn't really matter if you have round bases, squares bases, multi-based units, single based units, etc.

Edit: However, both sides should be based the same for ease.

I was talking to my dad (who knows nothing about wargaming) and he suggested my next book be about Viking warfare as well! His only knowledge of Vikings comes from living in Minnesota and watching the TV show.

Therefore, I am going to start gathering resources for this...... any good book recommendations for a layman?

Why yes actually I have a few book tips, but how relevant I know not from the standpoint of a authour like yourself. But I found these books to give a good insigth. You can also find a good amount of books published by a few other authours, although their names elude me at the time. You can find a lot of books about this subject in Norwegian, but if they are avalible in English I am not sure

I saw an advert for Men of Bronze in WI this month, looked cool! I was thinking, does it cover the successor periods as I saw you did battle reports with them?

As for the next project; I think Vikings have been rather done to death but whatever floats your longboat
