Did not see this posted, but GW released their Half Year Report.

https://s19485.pcdn.co/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/2018-19-half-year-report.pdf

Big takeaways.

* Revenue up ~14% over same time last year
* Profit up a little at ~ 2%
* Online sales dropped £ 0.8M and is due to decline at Forgeworld and Black Library
* Forgeworld and Black Library only account for £4.6M in sales.
* Investing in a new production facility. They did talk about this last year.
* No clue what to do regarding Brexit.

Glad to see GW is still growing, but hope the decline at Forgeworld sends a warning about what happens when you do major price hikes. Still surprised Forgewold makes up such a small part of the company.

The Forge World thing is a bunch of stuff, the price hike, 30k falling off (8th killed it locally, no-one wants to relearn 7th), and the fact they have 3 books worth of rules and potential model sales they still haven't finished (8th Black Book, Fires, Talons) Which would generate a lot of Custodes and Mechanicum sales if done correctly.

My main 40k armies are Dark Angels and Blood Angels, which both still have no Primarch model for 30k, and almost no models from Forgeworld. I don't really understand why production of these has dropped off, when it's been so long since that Angron was released and I got excited about buying an (overpriced) awesome model for the two Primarchs that I care about.

5000 pts High Elves 4000 pts, Warriors of Chaos 4000 pts, Dwarfs 3000 pts, Wood Elves and Greenskins too

Two interesting things leap out at me there:

1) ”ERP change - as discussed above we are changing our core ERP system in the UK. This is a complicated project with the risk of widespread business disruption if it is not implemented well. It is being implemented and managed by a strong internal project team and specialist ERP software consultants.” - Having been through an ERP system change at work, this can be a complete cluster feth, even with (or perhaps in spite of!) specialist contractors; I hope they’ve got their system requirements well specified. I wonder whether this may have been a contributing factor to some of the range changes too; prior to a system migration you want to clean up and reduce the data transfer as much as possible.

2) “In our opinion the greatest risk is the same one that we repeat each year, namely, management. So long as we have the right people in the right jobs we will be fine. Problems will arise if the board allows egos and private agendas to rule. We will do our utmost to ensure that this does not happen.” - Do you think they’re referring to anyone in particular?!

Damn, they're sure taking their erotic role play seriously!
