Pistols are pretty worthless in 8th. Only time I've even ever bothered firing them was a Dual Bolt Pistol Captain at a Spore Mine.

While, in general, pistols are worthless since they're the only ranged weapon Banshees have that's what they use before melee.

And all of them have them. It's not like its a, 'the commander gets an extra sidearm" type thing.

If you are doing it because you want to, go nuts, otherwise, don't worry about it, and good luck with the crapcast.

I don't want the best army, just one that isn't an exercise in picking up my models by turn 3.

It doesn't matter if you're not dominating the game; if you have 3-4 x as many models and options than the rest of us and you're still getting new kits, we're still gonna rip on the faction. If I had 100 + Drukhari kits all in plastic to choose from, or 100 + Sisters kits, I think I'd be more likely to be receptive to Space Marine player's complaints about anything.

Actually they were pretty easy to assemble. The only problem came with the figure with only 1 foot on the ground. That small contact point broke as I was attaching the model to its base.

A hand drill and some wire can fix that up. But it sucks that you have to.

Same one I broke. Lots of glue later and its good. I took more offense to the amount of time and patience required to clean up the mold lines and the like. Plus the melting problem. Meh.

You can't make Exarch with a sword & pistol. Just like you can't make Warp Spider Exarch without power blades. Yes, these official models do not follow wysiwyg.

These are old models (Spiders are 2d edition) and GW needs more marines

A piece of advice though, you pretty much always want Executioner anyway, there is no reason not to take it for its price since it's a multi-damage weapon with higher S for just a penny.

And never forget your pistols, Eldar pistols are actually quite good due to combination of bladestorm and battlefocus.

I have two squads of banshees, one resin, one metal. The metal ones have las pistols and the executioner is a single handed axe! I haven't had any problems but then I usually just play at my local gw store so other people may have a problem with them but no-one has complained so far
