Version A: https://whc-cdn.games-workshop.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/40K_8th_ed_Update_Codex_Genestealer_Cults_ver_1.0.pdf

Version B: https://whc-cdn.games-workshop.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/warhammer_40000_genestealer_cults_en.pdf

So, GW, which one is correct?

How can you be so incompetent to once again fail at basic proofreading or playtesting as to continue your 0% success rate with rulebooks, but also release two FAQs, with the same version number WITH DIFFERENT NERFS??!?!? Why did you nerf Mind Control in one, nerf Mental Onslaught in the other but not both???

More importantly, why release two FAQs with the SAME VERSION NUMBER. If you wanted to change the FAQ and nerfs, FINE, but number them correctly so we know which one is correct.

I want to start a pool on when Baconcat strokes out over a typo in some faq. I'm betting December 2021, Chapter Approved.

I mean he is not wrong, despite being rather extreme. Why do we accept this level of incompetence with proofreading? The Warhammer community is the only one I've seen that repeatedly excuses this stuff every time it comes up.

Is that the only difference? That one changes Mind Control and one changes Mental Onslaught? Is the wording for these powers the same because the text is identical the only difference is the name of the power.

Because they changed their mind and someone made a mistake putting the files in the proper folders?

The horror.

Wait they left it that you can Mind Control a knight? Interesting.

As usual, didn’t need a thread tbh.

I think after 30 years of expecting them to do differently they they do... At some point isn't it your fault for having the expectation?

Probably the one that's linked on the community website? Not sure where you found the other one, previous link?

*eye twitches* It's POLL. YOU'RE JUST AS INCOMPETENT AS GW!

Anyways, seeing as version B is the one that is on the FAQ page (no idea where the other link was dug up from) I'd say that is correct.

My issue isn't they made an oopsie poopsie and put the wrong file out.

My issue is they didn't make the corrected file v1.1, so now we have NO SODDING IDEA which one is correct.

To be fair though, if only one is linked on the site how would you even find the other one?

I think what is more fun to complain about is how they changed the GSC version of Agents of Vect to be 1/game while the DE version remains as much as you want with just an increased CP cost. Having multiple things that are virtually identical but behave differently is just adding bloat

WarCom has the second link. I'd bet Facebook has the first.

Yes, absolutely none. Unless we go to their website.

So, we can ask them. And then they will tell us.

I went to their website earlier and got a different one to the one on the website now, they are both v1.0. Which is correct? They are both Official Updates, v1.0. Do we take the Union, Intersection or Difference of the two documents?

Well, as far as we know time is a straight line, so the one that came out later? It's not hard.

As much as BCB tends to overract, I think more people need to hold GW to some sort of professional standard. Too many people just go "eh its not big deal" when that's not the point, the point is that we should expect quality from the "largest miniature company in the world".

I'm in for $5!

Yes, we all know that GW couldn't proofread themselves out of a library full of plot holes and spelling errors.
But who cares, they're going to fix it. If you(people in general) are so egregiously offended at the fact that GW isnt perfect, maybe you should stop supporting them or talking about them?

Maybe email then? It uses an indirect link. Whatever the case they all settle on version B now.

Ah yes the classic GW fan's reply: Just deal with it or stop supporting them.

You know there's a part in between "deal with poor quality" and "stop supporting the company" right?

They should, but this is really a mountain out of a molehill when he can just ask them directly instead of spitting his dummy out on here.

You have been able to since the index, so....

"Got you, Yugi! Your Rubric Marines can't fall back because I have declared the tertiary kaptaris ka'tah stance two, after the secondary dacatarai ka'tah last turn!"

"So you think, Kaiba! I declared my Thousand Sons the cult of Duplicity, which means all my psykers have access to the Sorcerous Facade power! Furthermore I will spend 8 Cabal Points to invoke Cabbalistic Focus, causing the rubrics to appear behind your custodes! The Vengeance for the Wronged and Sorcerous Fullisade stratagems along with the Malefic Maelstrom infernal pact evoked earlier in the command phase allows me to double their firepower, letting me wound on 2s and 3s!"

"you think it is you who has gotten me, yugi, but it is I who have gotten you! I declare the ever-vigilant stratagem to attack your rubrics with my custodes' ranged weapons, which with the new codex are now DAMAGE 2!!"

"...which leads you straight into my trap, Kaiba, you see I now declare the stratagem Implacable Automata, reducing all damage from your attacks by 1 and triggering my All is Dust special rule!"
