Sadly DZC went from a promising game that could get to Warmachine and 40k levels of big to one of those games that are only talked about on forums
Seriously, it had so much promise...but hawk gakked the bed with trying anot game too soon.

Yeah, splitting off resources to start DFC was not a good move. A small company like that should really dedicate all of their resources to a single project until they get off the ground.
If you want to see a fledging company do it right, look at Parabellum; they are dedicating everything to a single IP, and it looks amazing.

Yeah, I saw TTC at Vegas and that had no DZC stuff. Like none . I asked and they said they are focusing on DFC and I was mad.

There have been pictures of Resistance starter fleet (and the HIPS plastic sprues!) from TTCombats Salute-stand on the Dropfleet Discord channel!

This is awesome!!
(Between this, the behemoths and the hope of a plastic resistance dropzone starter, my wallet cries in pain already... )

Anyone at Salute? Able to get cohesive and get confirmation on a plastic resistance starter for Dropzone? Pretty please?

OOOh that looks like a fantastic fleet of ship designs! Say what you like but that guy can design some really outstanding ships!

Really hope the Battle For Earth rules and launch pushes hte game back into popularity! Esp since Firestorm Armada is currently dead in the water (and by the rumblings from Warcradle it sounds like they won't appear until 2020

Me and my friends bought in a few years back, I got a good size fleet or two.
It was the KS in fact.
Looked like a good game to bring back that BFG nostalgia.

Unfortunately I Am yet to play a game. Really must get round to it.

This fleet looks awesome. But I can’t buy anything else for a game I don’t even play yet

Final Transmission

It’s Saturday, let’s see what the old computer has for us today…

It’s the final transmission from the old computer (for the time being). We got one last signal before it gave up the ghost(s).

(Video)

That’s a whole lot to unpack, but we’ll have more information for you next week. If you’re lucky enough to be attending Salute today, pop by the TTCombat booth (TK12) to see more from the biggest Dropfleet Commander development since its launch!

The models styled after pre-fall human navy look amazing, the refitted ships...maybe they'll look better with coherent color scheme? Sadly all a moot point.

So like, did they just abandon DZC? It seems like they arevonly focusing on DFC

DZC was deep in development of a 2nd edition when Hawk was taken over by TTcombat they've carried on working on that and intend to relaunch the game in a big way later this year (I think the plan is KS)

that's why there hasn't been much new recently

As they relaunch it, it continues to die a slow death.

Aside from the huge DFC titan on the first page?

The new Earth rules is also a combined rules set for both games so the big banner is a rules release for DFC as well. I get the feeling that they are building to a bigger release and just really staggering out the news in bits.

They also showed off part of the Resistance Behemoth vehicle, which is apparently some kind of repurposed exploration land train that's carrying naval artillery as a main gun.

Those are some handsome ships.

If that's a sign of things to come, then I'm good.

I had taken a bunch of pictures from salute, but they don't look great. Heres a note to miniature companies, glass cabinets full of led strip lights are not camera friendly!

I spoke to Dave briefly ( he was about most of the day chatting to people) the concepts for these two fleets are great. The ramshakle ships are basically resistance in space. After the sphere appeared there was a large battle between the military and those leaving with the sphere. As the scourge showed up the next day no relief effort was sent to help the hundreds of ships damaged / left adrift. So they had to make do hence the mashed together look.

The second fleet is a rouge colony. When he UCM was formed they refused to join, shut of their beacon and went it alone. 200 years later this is what their military looks like. It's a lot closer to what the military of earth was pre scourge invasion. The event exclusive ship they did is clearly the inspiration. Hoping we see a DZC force for them in the future.

it's the quiet ones you have to look out for. Their the ones that change the world, the loud ones just take the credit for it.

The word (from Facebook) is that they'll just be Resistance - "Resistance are getting new technicals and gun wagons but they'll be uniform in appearance (hummer and milspec trucks) to coincide with the new DFC fleets".

I really hope that a new fleet, updates to existing model ranges and a new rules release can get the games back on track. The sculpts are really fantastic and high detail and the market is sorely needing both types of game. (save for Starwars which is sort of in a league of its own because its SW)

Hmmm quite surprised with the Resistance Fleet since they use to be pretty adamant back then of no Resistance in space, which left me pretty lukewarm to DFC and wound up getting the Scourge sprues off of my friends to be able to play since I was huge into DZC Resistance instead.

Well, whatever the case I am glad they came around to this and both of those styles of ships look great, so it looks like I get to buy two whole new factions worth since I both love scrap haulers and the EAA ships.

So, the Scrap Fleet of Vega and the Kabal of Kalium then? I wonder if this is a similar sort of setup to Resistance sub-factions like they did for Allied and Feral groups, or if this goes further than just a few command cards and some units as the two groups seem to be completely different. Anyways, I hope they do inject some life again into this as a number of us have been waiting on DZC 2.0 before we try to push it in our local store again.

It was in the case at Adepticon, I know I saw pictures of it on the Facebook group and I thought somebody had posted them here too.

What happened? One of the reasons why I stopped my brief introduction into Drop Fleet Commander was I was told and read many times there will be no Resistance. So I basically quit both games since there seems to be no use to continue at the time.

Now, I don't know if I want to restart or not. Just curious why the change of heart about Resistance in space now.

Agies Grimm:The "Learn to play, bro" mentality is mostly just a way for someone to try to shame you by implying that their metaphorical nerd-wiener is bigger than yours. Which, ironically, I think nerds do even more vehemently than jocks.

Everything is made up and the points don't matter. 40K or Who's Line is it Anyway?

Wait... aren't the resistance forces the ones that have been hiding out on the planet for a century piecing together ramshackle vehicles? And now the equivalent of the Sanford and Sons 4th mechanized Max Max division has a space fleet? At least with space orc(k)s the ridiculousness was grandfathered in with the rest of the 1980's inspired ideas from RT but this feels more than a bit wierd IMO.

My quick answer is 'Meh'.

My longer answer is they were the dudes hiding in the asteroids salvaging derelict military ships to return to action.

Yeah it's a stretch, in real life no guerilla group, no matter how resourceful, is building fighter planes in a cave, much less star ships but with self-sufficient mining colonies and such... it CAN work. More or less.
