Frateris Militia sound a lot like Cawdor, with their garbage guardian spears.

On one hand, I want to believe this will be a successful release. It sounds like they've put a lot of effort into rebooting and retooling SoB. And it sounds like they're adding new and interesting things to the mix, and I can honestly say I'm probably going to grab Frateris Militia because they could have some uses for Necromunda or even some fun conversions.

On the other hand, I think there's a good chunk of the voices on the internet that want Sisters of Battle... and have no intention of buying them, never owned them, and probably never even cared about them- because if there's one thing there's no shortage of on the internet- it's people repeating complaints they've heard other people say to have an excuse to complain and throw shade.

So, here's hoping that it's good. I just hope they work the way people expect them to.

Yeah, I'm gonna press X to doubt this one very hard. The Militia sound exactly like Cawdor, Lady Olynder is a Nighthaunt character, the mounted Saint sounds exactly like the Everqueen, and the melee unit sounds exactly like Liberators.

I'm fairly well convinced this is a spin for April Fools. OP, if you still have the images, could you please PM them to me so I can take a gander, if it would be no bother.

However, after looking at it again- I'm calling this a troll post, maybe not OP deliberately but someone's taking the piss here and I'm pretty sure spreading bogus stuff on this forum isn't really a useful or interesting thing.

Had me going for a minute, as it isn't April 1 in my time zone yet.

GFDI, time zones. I even looked at the calendar and said "oh that's not it" and didn't think about the actual next day.

Just for this I hope they reset the clock to 2020.

And also make female space marines.

And then re-release squats. And then squat them again.

Even then, everyone expects the jokes on April Fool's. People who want more than a half-second of believability for their pranks have been doing so the day before or the day after for a while now. The moment you get into the border days, treat stuff like this as if it were on April Fool's itself.

So are the Sisters coming before or after the SW war Mammoth?

1) I hate perpetuals and if sisters get a whole unit I'd have to boycott them.

2) Is Lady Olynder actually named for Oleander or is something else behind her name?

3) I'm not sure whether faith ghosts/demons would be great or terrible if GW actually did them.

Overall, the Tomb Kings thread was better in its simple cruelty.

I really liked the preview of the new sub faction and expansion rules. The last thing I think anybody expected were new units that operate only in the Debate phase of the game, but Sisters of Rebuttal look very promising.

For many, many years people have celebrated April Fools with a quick 'New Sisters of Battle sighted!" and a Rick Astley link. So I figured with actual new Sisters coming we'd send the joke off to the memory hole in style.

As other caught, the joke ("joke") was that there were no new sisters coming just repackaging of existing 40k, Necro and AoS models.

Why would that be hard to believe? The sisters raising some local imperial cultist rabble as meatshields is basically Cawdors wet dream. Being able to do some equipment swaps and cross-selling a couple kits doesn't hurt I imagine. Eh, too bad it's just a joke though.
