Subject: The return of the krork?

Ok the background tells us that the old ones created the krorks, who were much larger, more intelligent, better organized, etc, than the modern orks who are mostly degenerate and essentially devolved descendants of the krork.
This video gives a good view of the origin of the krork and how the devolved into krorks. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dk0RhJ53NQc
I was wondering if GW wanted to add in another new thing could they write in that due to the evolutionary pressure of fighting new and more dnagerous foes, like the tyranids and/or the return of the necrons, could the orks start to evolve back into krorks? Would there be a krork army or at least a new ork faction of krorks that might be done to A. Push more plastic and B. attrract m,ore ork players?
Ad would any current ork players like to see a Krork faction added?
Maybe krorks would be new HQ and Elite units for ork armies at first...

Ive was looking at the krorks recently too because of all the primaris around.
It sounds like a good idea that could make orks better on the table top, I like the orks due to the funny/crazy side they have though and if they brought the krorks in I think orks would lose even more of that.

You'd also need the return of the brainboyz to control the krork, though.
Not their degenerate grotlings and snotballs.
(The krork were the "muscle", they had a diminutive "brain" caste that called the shots. A particular fungus was required for this all to work. The brainboys ate it.)

More likely GW go the 'primeork' route from the Beast Arises series if we see any more updates to Ork models. Though the Primeorks and Krorks might be one and the same. My head canon is that all Orks, if given sufficient stimulus, will become much more intelligent and much larger. This is the evolutionary pathway that all Orks follow if their WAAAAGGGHH!! reaches critical size.
Ghazzy is a 'prime' candidate. He is already one of the most intelligent Orks, he is supposed to be massive and he is mirroring the beast in that is he seemingly many places at once.
His 'lieutenants' have also displayed elements of his Kunning and they have also earned notoriety on their respective planets. They are not described as particularly large specimens though to my knowledge.
Again, in my head canon, any Ork that Ghazzy headbutts has that primeork potential unlocked within them. Which is almost every rival boss he's subjugated.
We're not going to see larger Boyz, Nobs or other specialist units I don't think - apart from Boyz most of the kits are great as they are, as much as I'd love to see new, larger Ork kits I don't think its very likely. Our HQ options are possible though and desperately need it, to be honest. Especially Ghazzy. His model is weaksauce. I'd also like to see 'x on bike' characters return.

a plastic ghazzy seems likely, and if that happens I fully expect he'll be of a size that's worthy of him, proably comparable to Abaddon or Gulliman

Well, the Xenology art book, whilst of questionable canon, did propose that Ghaz was simply the first expression of a new kind of Oddboy - a natural leader caste.
And given how population density triggers specific Oddboyz at specific times, that does hold at least some weight as a theory.

That's one hell of a theory and runs kin of parallel to mine here. Orks are facing a new order of threats to their survival from tyranids, the resurgent chaos forces, the returning necrons, primaris marines, (oh shut up!) and so on.
I was thinking that survival pressure might trigger a return of the old, superior, krork gene. Remember the orks have what amounts to a collective sub consciousness that might act as a type of instinctive genetic engineer. It might have decided the krork were needed in this era of new and unprecedented threats.
OTOH, The idea of thrakka being a prototype for a leader oddboy, or maybe a prophet or messiah oddboy, could work too as the usual ork anarchy and division just won't work under the new situation. Orks need more unity than they've ever needed before, and along come thrakka, the prophet of the waaaugh, to lead them to war against the ''nids.
Thrakka has shown far more regard for the ork species as a whole than is normal. He let yarrick go after capturing him because orks needed good enemies to fight. He also has more vision than any ork leader before him.
He lead a waaaugh to a heavily populated ork world that was being consumed by the 'nids, fought to save it, was swallowed whole by a major tyranid monster and tore his way out of it, killing it in the process, and every ork on the planet rallied when that happened, driving the 'nids away.
Maybe thrakka is a new oddboy, a prophet or something, he called himself a prophet once. And he may also be a return of the krork genotype too. Whatever the ork race needs to survive in a more dangerous galaxy.

Ghazghkull was an ordinary boy until he got his head injury and had his cranium replaced, after that he was touched by the gods. The interesting thing about the xenology book was that it wasn’t a text book on aliens for us but a demonstration of how far off the mark in universe biology is and how blinkered the imperium is. They basically need to leave ORKS alone and ignore any garbage coming from black library. They write the worst generic background stuff, their work on arenas of battle or chapters of their own is fine but when it comes to the bigger setting they get it totally wrong all the time and have ruined lots of good stories.

While this is pure wishlist, I think it'd be cool if Krork came back, and were effectively the "Noble Orc" seen in much of the Thrall-centric Warcraft lore. That'd be a fun addition to 40k, espeically alongside Orkz (and in the same armies).

Does size of the Ork have a direct correlation to evolution/intelligence?
or was Gazzy smart before he started to grow?
If so I reckon you could launch a n"new Ork/Krork/prime Ork army" based around the Beast, as I read somewhere he was nearly 10 metres tall, and he went blow for blow with Vulkan. and no really knows what happened during/after the explosion it is only assumed they are both "dead".

Honestly if there was one kit I could have, it wouldn't be larger orks but madboyz. xP Wacky, insane boyz with silly bits and bobs. Helmets made of regular old buckets, random gubbinz and junk as melee weapons.
Or maybe more weirdboy presence? Weirdboy vehicles could be fun.

This! So much of this! ^^^^^^^^^^^
They need to bring back the whacky but potentially deadly side of ORKS. The new buggies were a great step in the right direction. But madboyz would but amazing with modern day sculpts!

They won't come back.
Trazyn has one in his musuem- it's 12m tall, (so the size of a Warhound titan) and in incredibly high tech armour. I for one don't want that in 40k.

No, because it’s blatantly called a Krork by Bile and The Beast didn’t have high tech armour that (to a marine) was far in advance of their own.

I think that's old lore which has been effectively retconned by "The Beast" series. In that one leadership caste orks were just even crazily bigger orks. The Ork civlization spun them up because they were being attacked by the Imperium with all its Primarchs.
