Just wondering who can get the most in 3 detachments? I can get to at least 5 with Aeldari: Archon Warlord, Alliance of Agony to give a Succubus and Haemonculus one each for 3 (these are all in one detachment). Exalted of Ynnead (in a seperate detachment) for 4. Lastly, a Field Commander in a separate Craftworlds detachment for 5.

Surely Imperium, as they can take tons of Specialist Detachments.

Cost a ton of CP, but you could theoretically have all the Guard ones and Marine ones all together. Unless you're playing with detachment limits of course.

As I said in the OP within 3 detachments.

Imperium maxes out at 5 I think.

Guard battalion w/ warlord, old grudges. Make battalion a tank company, give one tank field commander. Up to 2.

another Guard battalion, artillery company w/ field commander. Up to 3.

Add a Knights detachment, use Exalted Court to give 2 of them warlord traits. 5 traits now.

So the 2 main Soup armies? No surprise there.
Anyone with more knowledge of all the Chaos options know if they can also get 5 WL traits in 3 detachments?

Genestealer Cults can have 3 but they must be on a Patriarch, Primus and Magus.I don't think that can be combined with any Tyranid traits.

Wait, how do you gain additional Warlord Traits? I thought only one model was able to get it, with the "field commander" thing for Black Legion allowing a second model to get one? I didn't think you got on per detachment. I'm so confused now; where do I find the rules to get more than one?

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

I think you can have 4 Warlord Traits in 3 detachments in Chaos (1 standard and 3 Field Commanders), but you need to be using 3 Vigilus specialist detachments to get there.

Field Commander (Vigilus Ablaze p.160, Vigilus Defiant p.169) allows you to give a Warlord Trait to one character per Specialist Detachment, and since it's a pre-game stratagem you can use it as many times as you have Specialist Detachments.

Black Legion also have a strategem that allows them to give an Apostle and a Sorcerer a WL traits under certain conditions. They theoretically max out at 6 traits in a 3 detachment army (1 base, 3 from specialist detachments, 2 from Council of Traitors).

Teach me to read properly!

I think GSC can get 5 too though. 1 base, 2 extra from the Broodcoven strat, 2 more from Specialist Detachments.

Okay then, sounds good. Where can I find the info about the specialist detachment stuff? I've got the BRB, but not Vigilus yet. I only knew about the BL thing that was in Vigilus; is the whole thing brand new to Vigilus?

Yep, specialist detachments were introduced in the first Vigilus book.

GW hey, we have a new rules book, it gives you extra rules for certain units in certain armies.
Players you mean formations, the thing that broke 7th
GW No these arn't formations, these are just rules for certain units in certain detachments for certain codex's but you pay CP so not formations

Players well atleast if they cost CP maybe they can balance them out in CP cost

GW Well they complained till we added CP costs so call it 1CP each, they are all just fluffy bonuses after all.

Alpha legion can have as many warlord traits as they have characters assuming the warlord dies first every time.

An extra <keyword> you can use to unlock a new relic, a new warlord trait and maybe a little trick like a shoot-twice stratagem?

Those aren't new with vigilus.

That stuff has existed ever since the very first 8th edition Chaos Codex with adding keywords such as <slaanesh> (except there it didn't and doesn't cost a CP to add the new keyword, which is a bit unfair, to be honest. Would've loved if they had addressed that in CSM 2.0).

sure except to sue the special abilities you gotta use stratigiums. so you pay 1 CP to be able to use CP to do additional things.

Opinions are not facts please don't confuse the two
