Somewhere over the rainbow, way up high

Recently won a lot of Custodes to start a new army. Was very excited until I opened the box and half of them are in pieces.
Now. The arms and bodies are easy enough to put back together. My issue is that the Allarus Terminators, carrying Castellan Axes, have broken in half/three in some cases, basically all on the 'haft' sections, which are particularly thin.

I've been able to use super glue with a setting accelerant to make most of the other repairs.

How would you suggest i go about repairing the axes, or should i see if I can purchase the axes online instead of repairing?

Plastic glue or poly cement would give you a good bond for repairs as it melts the pieces together. It's hard to say without pictures to assess how much damage there is.

I'd suggest pinning, drill small holes with pinvice and use a piece of paper clip. If you do this, use super glue due to the metal. Otherwise, if your models are plastic, use plastic glue, not super glue. The bond will be much better, as the plastic is "welded" together. Superglue is brittle, and with accelerant even more so.

Of course, eBay or bits sellers might be options, but if you've got all the bits, I'd try repairing first.

Here is a (poor) picture to give you an idea. snapped off at the axehead. I can't imagine the hafts are thick enough to drill.

I would use brass rod: Cut away any of the plastic shaft that remains, drill into either side of the axe, and replace where the plastic was with maybe 1.5mm brass rod. If you manage to just glue the shaft back together as is, it'll be way to fragile.

In regards to the Brass Rod Approach, where might be a good source to find something like that?
*Edit* Looks like amazon has them.

Small paperclips can be cheaper alternative

Another nice thing about *some* paperclips is that they have a knurled finish, which breaks up the flatness of the shaft.

It keeps the shafts from just being smooth poles, if you want something fancier looking.

If you're careful, it can be done. When I converted my SCE Liberators to have swords instead of hammers, I cut the hammers off and pinned the swords. The hafts of the hammers were 1mm thick, I used a 0.8mm drill bit, which left a good 0.1mm of plastic around the hole Make sure that your pilot mark is at the center and use a pinvice.

My advice to you good sir is to Strip all the paint off the models with safe on plastic chemicles like super clean. Repaint and repair. For filling gaps and sculpting I suggest a Superfine Miliput mixed with 5% green stuff. Miliput is a world class for sculpting. But it's even better when Mixed with 5% of green stuff. 95% White Miliput to 5% greenstuff for flexibility.

Hope that helps. Honestly painting your own gak is way better.

You can also use Plasti-Card or Polystyrene material here such as dowels(poles). https://plastruct.com other websites and stores exist. But basically you can build any structure with plasticard /Plasti-card

Hot needle might work here instead of a drill.

Alright, using a combo of glue and a tiny pin. The axes are fixed.

Now...the bikes shipped without any flight stands.
They look like they're unique. Is it feasible to fashion some with sprue and magnets and not have it look like hot trash?
