Can't recall seeing this mentioned anywhere else in the N&R section, so it probably belongs here now that the thread is revived. Taken from Facebook, shared August 28 by the Warhammer TV page
Green Wolf Studios wrote:
You may have painted them in miniature scale, you’ve seen them fighting the enemies of the Emperor in countless tabletop games, and you’ve seen them come to life in video games. Now for the first time you’ll have the opportunity to see the Astra Militarum produced as lifelike 1/6th scale collectable action figures.
Over the past year we have worked relentlessly with the Warhammer creative team to bring you the first in our new line up of Warhammer 40,000 licensed figures. Our first figure is an iconic Cadian Officer which has been meticulously rescaled to a height of 30 cms to provide you a faithful representation of the famous fighting force - with the finest of details taken into account.
No actual images of the figures just yet, only a link to their site ( https://www.greenwolfstudios.com/) for a newsletter

See, perhaps oddly, I’d be happy to cough up Green Wolf Studios asking price, because from the images on their site, they do serious detail, including textile clothing.

I saw the Green Wolf ad and followed it to their site - they've done models in the £500 bracket. So £165 actually sounds to be on their cheaper end.

The £500 figures all seem to belong to a specific artist line, whereas the regular military and original sci-fi troopers all sit between £165 - £200.
I'm very much an outsider to this market, but that doesn't seem unreasonable. Hopefully the terms of the deal with GW don't inflate it too much, it'd be nice to see this do well enough to warrant expansion into different regiments.

I think I'm getting too old for this...
As far as I can read, a 7" prepainted space marine from Bandai McFarlane is £24.99. A 28mm space marine captain from GW which you have to cut from a sprue, shave off all the mold lines, glue together and then paint, is £22.50?
Seems cheaper overall to play in 7" scale than 28mm.

I can’t believe they did a salamander without a flamer. I got the ultra marine, it’s nice but not worth it. An Eldar model or any other race would have been cool. But honestly I’m expecting more diverse range from mcfarlane than Bandai and the difference in appearance from one to the other isn’t that much so I will be giving these a miss.

While the 2 new Primaris Marines do look nice, I feel like their choices/the way they've done them are quite underwhelming. Out of all the chapters they could have chosen, all the variation and unique aspects, what they decide on is pretty much a repaint + different weapon, and not even ones more fitting for the chapters they chose. Think about how disapointing it would be if they made a Dark Angels figure without any robes and extra iconography, or an Iron Hands without visible bionics. It would just feel a bit lazy as it would be be such a missed opportunity to do more with it.

Is it particularly surprising that they are being cautious on this new avenue rather than putting in a lot of money on new tooled molds if it doesn't work out?
And the Weapons work well enough for me. Sure a Flame weapon would have been awesome for the Sally but they are known for their craftmanship so a Master Crafted Bolt Rifle seems right up their alley.
Same for the Imps and their Bolter Drill specialization being a good choice for the Assault Bolter.
These are the models they release to learn to walk, before they run with the more visually distinct chapters like Space Wolves and Dark Angels...and if you dare to dream...Chaos Space Marines.
If/When these models sell well, then we can expect to see more generous leaps of creativity and expense in their designs.

That price is for the McFarlane ones, NOT the Bandai ones. The Bandai Marines are $100 USD a pop.

The deco on the new marines is incredibly blah and the poses make the oversized gun look even worse. Not sure if I want to continue to basic airbrushed factory paint jobs in bright colors. These really need more detail and paint work, or just sell them as a a dang kit like we all actually want!

Bandai can go jump. No way I’m even thinking of buying another standard marine when this beauty is being produced on this lovely planet.

Also, it's not a 3-pack, it's 3 individually packed items that are being sold together because that's the entire Wave release and the unpainted Intercessor is shortpacked so most places aren't offering them individually and end up stuck with stock no one wants because people just want the shortpack.
