Some Neophytes built from assault marine legs, with scout bodies, and various other bits to Black Templar them up.
Gave them more of an in motion pose which I liked.

This is how they look mixed in with the Initiates as a Crusader Squad.

Also finished up a Predator.

Just been through the whole blog. Some great minis in here, and put together at a quick pace too! Really love the apothecary, his base really is the business.

What’s your black recipe? Is it just drybrush on top of black or do you base coat them grey before washing black? I thought the former but your WIP shot looked more the latter!

Hey Gobert, sorry for the late reply.
It is Drybrushing since I dont have a place to airbrush currently.

Black undercoat, Eshin Grey heavy drubrush, Dawnstone Light Dry Brush, Skeleton Bone Drybrush picking out the edges, then I tie it all together with Nuln Oil wash.
Same for the mech, but I also do a edge drybrush of silver.

Couple more units finished up.

BT Jump Captain. Will run him with Teeth of Terra and Sword Brethren.

Centurion Devs, which actually did really well my frist game with the new codex (Las/Hurricane).

Great work there bud. Among Space wolves and Dark Angels, Black Templar’s are one of my favourite chapters for sure.
Love how you’ve done that black.
Have always struggled making black look good with some depth, and not fan of just an edge highlight. You’ve hit it spot on.
Hmm i had a small force on the go that got put aside some time ago i may just have to pull them out and have a look again.

Thanks xKillGorex
I'm the same with edge highlighting, and black armour.
BT have always been my fav chapter lore wise - but I was put off painting them for years for the same reasons.
I found the drybrushing method on a YouTube vid.

Well dragged my Templar’s out of storage thanks to your thread bud. So now looks like another Templar crusade is in the making, also backed up by a knight preceptor that’s being worked on now.
God I love the knight kit.

Awesome news.
I'd be keen to see pics of the BT's or the Preceptor once done!

Finished up a BT Primaris Chaplain.
Made a few modifications to him.

Some WIP shots on the conversion of my Primaris Emperors Champion.

He is based on Lieutenant Tolmeron from the BA range. I believe the other standard Lieutenant actually makes a more traditional base to build the EC off, but I wanted something a little different.

Sword is plasticard.
Metal plates are from the old BT etched brass sprue.
Some greenstuff accessories.
Also lengthened the hilt on his sword at one point after getting feedback from some others.

His sword was my first attempt at Non-Metalic Metal.

Next up on the bench are some agressors.
I also need to get another squad of intercessors to expand out my troop options, which are exteremely narrow at the moment. They are also performing amazingly well on the table the last few games.

Also a shot of some of my army on the table at the last game day.
I'll need to get a full army shot at some point, its growing fast.

Thanks Gobert!

That shot was just a bit of it.
Actually got the whole Crusade together a week or so after.

Here is a shot:

Also finished up this squad of Intercessors.

And finished a count as Vindicare Assassin, Karmina Noxx from Raging Heroes.

Worked on this Phobos character over the weekend. Wasn't happy with him as is for Black Templar.
Picked up some bits from Conversion World and they really fit the agressive pose of the mini.

Here is the unpainted pic.

Painted.

Ooooh very nice bud. Every conversion you show is fantastic. Waiting to see what the Templar stuff is before I crack on with some Templar primaris marines.

Another winning conversion, nicely painted too. The etched brass looks to have livened up what would otherside be a plain shield, good choices!

Sweet Dread! Nice touch with the Emperors Children, do the Templar’s have beef with them?

Hey All,

Had a bit of break from the templars, but purchased the Command Edition set which has got me back onto them.
Some Assault Intercessors below, and also some Honour Guard I converted up and painted a bit before the break.

I actually painted/converted him using this image as inspiration. So picked the EC marine from that.

Good to see your Templar’s making a return. The honour guard and the assault intercessors look great. The resemblance of the dread to the art inspiration is clear, good work!
