An argument based on the name is not an argument that there is a rule making it Unique, therefore the fact that it is 'The' Contorted Epitome is irrelevant and not evidence of a rule making it Unique.

Ergo, there is nothing even approaching a shred of evidence to state that The Contorted Epitome is Unique.

As previously stated, the Datasheet in the OP represents "the full rules" for The Contorted Epitome for now and the foreseeable future.

If and when a Codex changes the Datasheet, we can discuss that. Right now, all we have is the Datasheet.

Cool, so we agree on the rules. My point was about whether you could glean anything of the intent, and I am arguing there is reasonable evidence that it was intended to be unique.

This may influence people's purchase decisions - they may decide that it's strong enough evidence to hold off on purchasing until it's in a book - and that makes it worth mentioning, even if it doesn't affect the actual rules at this point in time.

Out of interest, do the datasheets on the build instructions that come with Unique models (e.g. the recent Abaddon release) specify that the model is Unique?

Life is one big caveat emptor. If people wish to consider irrelevant considerations, they can have at it.

I can't say for sure on Abaddon, I have no way of knowing if the Datasheet I'm looking at is from a box or not, but every image of a Datasheet I can find for Abaddon has the "only include one in your army" spiel.

I have the Abaddon one next to me as I really should tidy my sofa...

It says "only one of this model may be included in your army" on the Datasheet that was provided with the box.
