What a massive, amazing army, holy!!!!!

Lol, are they spanish imperial guard? I assume people has those massives armies from years and years of collecting miniatures.

One always thinks "wow thats a ton of money" but then in two years I have amassed a pretty big amount of miniatures, is just that I jump from proyect to proyect instead of having all of them be of the same army.

But yeah, phenomenal photos and armies !

The first 2K was built and painted in three months and then another 6K was built and painted in two months.

Well it is difficult for me to fully form them up will try later though ( I play traitor guard mostly soooooo, ) ....

How long did that lot take you to paint?

Depends. If planning counts too, i have spent 1-2 days to look up Heraldry and draw a "few" examples until I had the idea I really liked.... The knights use the same colors but each has his own scheme, all based on the basics of Heraldry used in europe.
A knight would be assembled at ~ 80 %, Main body, Legs, shoulderplates and base. Easy to do, maybe 1-1,5 hours from "in box" to standing on its own feet. . Primed with something like "boltgun metal" and "white" or a light grey. Add the colors step by step and its maybe an afternoon / 4 hours of painting? Didn't count the breaks because I don't watch the paint dry but find something else to do.
Decals and base, final assembly ( and no the shoulderplates are not glued, you can remove the arms and any additional gun...) added , should be something about 6-8 hours of "hobby-time" spent on each knight.

Your army looks awesome! A.T, even with the "allergic" camera as you say. Nice

Both my of 40K armies are actually 30K armies, but they get used in 8th from time to time (the Space Wolves especially).

Both photos are a little out of date now. The Wolves is missing 6 Jetbikes, a Xiphon Interceptor, a Sicaran Arcus and a Dreadnought Drop Pod. The Iron Warriors are missing another 2x Castellax Domitar for the Praevian, 2x more Iron Circle Domitar, 3x Javelin Land Speeders and another 10 Tactical Marines.

Cheers! I gave it a shot as I felt the clear canopies didn't look quite right on the newer skimmers. The army dates back to 2010 so there's been a bit of a stylistic change in that time.

Only 750 points so far, taken me a year to paint! I'm very slow, have little time each week to actually work on them.


I have more unpainted since this pic was taken, but not much.

This thread is what the hobby is all about. All these pics are great!

Sadly, what it highlights for me is that I haven't taken any "parade" photos in a long time. The best I can do is some large deployments that I happen to have handy on short notice.

lol, well I am a realist. The edge highlighting on these is not up to par. So - Not up to normal standards However - the Army I'm currently working on, DE, do look much better. So I will eventually go back through my Templars and try to improve the worst offenders.

I used primaris as my breakpoint. Classically, I never even did colored shoulder rims, as I didn’t want my RTB01’s to feel left out. Even after I started upping my painting game, I still didn’t edge highlight, as I wanted my army to look uniform. But I figured with primaris, there was enough of a difference that I’d start painting them to a higher standard. They were not going to mesh 100% with the old guys anyway.

And there is no way I’m re-doing everyone.

My latest complete army

The most recent army I've been working on is Custodes. My first and only imperial army. They've been a good excuse to try out some different basing and painting techniques.

Here are my Dark Eldar - In progress.

The 91st Experimental (Ad Mech+ IG + Tempestus + Space Marines (very few, like 1000 points of them).

War Zepplein, Ordinatus Majoris and Atomic Cannon included as "Super Weapons".
