Oh, god, Insectum7's right.

Look for images of the 2nd edition 40k boxed set (the one with the cardboard dreadnought). That's what Orks looked like back then.

Those Orks in particular were pretty awful, as were the Tac Marines that were sold alongside them (although they are more passable from a distance). I wouldn't take that model as a "Thats what Orks looked like." There are better examples.

That's what my 'Stormboyz of Khorne' look like now :-)

Technically not 'mono-pose', as the Slugga arm could be fitted with the gun up, down or ahead (!), these are a similar size/bulk to the 'Black Reach' and 'Orc Boyz' figures.

So they are legit. Man plastics have come a long way.

I'd repaint them but too much other stuff to do a quick wash made some look better at least, but compared to WHFB orks from 10 years later, which are probably close in size to current 40k Orks they are just kind of wee, but the pose isn't helping.

Got some new Orks in. A fair bit bigger, not taking into account the gear.

Are these guys supposed to be bosses? They were listed as mek boys but aren't those just mechanics? At least they were in the old Ork books I've read.
