Been a very long time since I last played 40k and was wanting to build flyrant heavy list, like 3 - 5 of them. Is it a viable option and if so was wandering on any tips with building my list and other models that synergise well with them.

A lot of places use it even for casual games.

Ask around-make sure you can use 5 Flyrants before buying them.

If your intentions are to ignore matched play rules then asking if your army is viable is pretty hard to answer.

Using 3 Flyrants in matched play however is very viable and a solid outing for Nids.

Rule of Three isn't a Matched Play rule, it's an Organized Event Guideline. You're free to include as many copies as your Codex allows in Matched Play games.
