She's a month away from five and she wanted the Ork easy build kit. So I bought it for her, ten bucks.. easy. She clipped them out and put them together on her own. I directed her painting but she painted all of it on her own. I've rescued models with worse paint jobs.. HEH.

At that age the best I could do was tip a pot of green ink over a space marine, by accident.

This is great! Love to see how she does with her painting over the years, if she sticks to it.

Thanks for all the comments, they made her happy.

I too was surprised. She likes to paint and used to do large impressionistic pieces on her painting board but fine motor skills?

I was surprised when she painted within the lines and followed directions, kept her brush damp, and even supported her arm with her leg to get better control.

We will get into shading and highlighting later. For now, this is more than enough. She's always loved orks. She's the world's littlest warboss..

Nice work. I can barely get my kids to sit still enough to have breakfast. Still I live in hope that I can replicate your (and her) amazing feat

She is still working on them. A little at a time. She's almost got another one done. To be fair I am impressed she can paint as long as she does. She get's tired and says she's done after about 10 minutes of hard core focus and work. Which for 5... is impressive. So I let her take it as she is ready. Wanted to paint today before school but she didn't have the time and she wasn't really all awake and there yet so I held her off. Maybe after dance class today.

As for the barrel drill. On other models. These I am just director. I tell her where to paint and what colors go where and check her work over for her. She doesn't have the hand strength to operate the micro-drill yet, it was hard enough for her to clip the models out of the sprue but I really wanted these to be all hers. I will paint up orks for her and maybe a trukk or two but this is really her's and I want her to really enjoy them and be proud of her own efforts and results.

What a natural. Does she get her fine motor skills from either one of you folks?
