Hey all. Trying to figure out what this green is on the main part of the uniform/jacket. Thinking about replicating it. Any ideas? Hopefully a Vallejo game color, if there’s a similar one.

It appears to be based on some sort of German uniform

you could probably find something that matches or is similar by looking up historical miniature painting guides.

I have done that and a lot suggest German fieldgrey, but it’s not quite this pale.

If german fieldgrey is correct color but not the same tone i think you could mix in some grey or off white to make it paler (iirc)

That’s also a thought. But matching every time I paint across 100+ Death Korps infantry would be a task. German Uniform (not fieldgrey) is also close so I may try that, with a pale blue-grey highlight.

Any other thoughts still welcome tho. Even outside of Vallejo.

German Extra Dark Green.

You won't find your ideal paint without buying a good set and trying them all live though.

I wouldn't worry about colour matching your Krieg, there is natural variation in materials and it'll make them look realistic. Do a mix until you are happy with it and then write down the mix in a notebook to replicate your colours.

There're clearly subtle shades and highlights in that photo, so you're going to be doing extra work that you'll have t try and match across the army anyway.

I think this Reaper triad would work for you:

Found a blog which had this picture representing the mid-tone, Highland Moss:

Thanks that triad does look pretty close. I’ll be airbrushing so three layers like that should be easy.

Yep, the entire palette screams Vallejo WW2 Germans. The helmets are Feldgrau looking, the trousers look like early German green (not sure the name of the colour). The jacket is also a German camo colour.
