While a thread like this would normally go to the 40k Dakka Rules Interpretation page section, I thought that this isn't necessarily a rules interpretation question, but more of a simple "true or not true" question.

I've seen articles or comments from numerous websites that the Iron Hands can move and fire heavy weapons without penalty. Is this true or not?

My apologies. I've ordered both the codex and supplement and am waiting for it to arrive.

That's fair. I missed you were a regular poster (was phone posting) and thought you were just some schmuck who didn't want to buy his books.

Keep in mind, that's the "Iron Hands" only Doctrine which stacks only if all of your units in your army have the Iron Hands keyword or something like that. It's not innate just because your unit has the Iron Hands keyword.

As said above.

That rule is the carrot GW put in to encourage people to play mono-Iron Hands (or mono-Iron-Hands successor).

Add an allied Ultramarines detachment, and they lose Calculated Fury.

Add an allied Imperial Guard detachment, and they lose both Calculated Fury and Doctrines.

Actually, I'm tired of all those soup armies out there.
Not a bad move by GW.
