Hi.

I want to add variety to my DA army but don’t want to start collecting Primaris.

Is there any cannon or fluff that associates DA with a particular Imperial Guard regiment. Or even one of the other imperial military groups or parts or the mechanicum.

It’s hard to think there would be due to their secretive nature but you never know, would be good for inspiration

Thanks

Nope, no particular association in DA fluff aside from them being exceedingly intolerant against Abhumans.

There are records of DA being called into the same campaign in which multiple imperium factions were called into, but no direct association between DA and any other imperium factions were ever noted.

DA would be the first ones to ditch their imperium allies in news of sighting of a fallen at any given moment.

The only "association" would be with forgeworlds, and even then, techmarines can never become a member of the inner circle due to circumstances.

On moon miranda.

The secretive nature of the DA's mean they dont associate much with anyone, particularly not the Guard.

In FW's 3 book Siege of Vraks saga, the DA's show up, do their thing, and leave without ever coming anywhere near the main battle lines and don't interact with the Krieg regiments fighting the siege basically at all

That said, you could still use something like that as inspiration.

The correct pronunciation is Imperial Guard and Stormtroopers, "Astra Militarum" and "Tempestus Scions" are something you'll find at Hogwarts.

And in the end, they make life even more difficult for everyone while they achieve very little.

The only association I am aware of are with a Freeblade in the so-called videogame.
Freeblade btw got an entire shtick of redemption that fits good with DA.

I can't condone a place where abusers and abused are threated the same: it's destined to doom, so there is no reason to participate in it.

Stick some Chaos cultists in with your DAs. Probably be right at home

In all seriousness, though, Dark Angels are probably THE most difficult Space Marine chapter to pair other Imperial forces up with. The Inquisition would roast them all. And as previously mentioned, they wouldn't let the Guard anywhere near them.

The only other potential option is marines from another Space Marine chapter...

There have been known instances of Imperial Navy crews being turned to Chaos over time by corrupted ship designs. Perhaps the Imperial Guard can be similarly corrupted by such dark angles and other infernal geometry.

Exhibit A (Imperial Armour V):
"Azrael sent no communications to the 88th Siege Army's commanders. He simply set about his self-assigned mission - the destruction of the Vrak's star port, and therefore severing of Vrak's easy access to off-planet reinforcements. He needed no assistance, and saw no reason to involve the Imperial Guard regiments engaged on Vraks."

Exhibit B (Armageddon3 website entry for Flesh Tearers):
"Chapter Master Seth denied me any tactical counsel whatsoever. After nearly a century in leading my Sisters to war, occasionally alongside Marine Chapters, this treatment came as no surprise."

Exhibit C (Storm of Vengeance campaign booklet):
"While the Chapter is recruiting, the Rock stays in one place for generations. In this time the Dark Angels build temples and shrines on the planet to act as recruitment centres for the planet’s population. One of these temples was built in Kadillus Harbour on Piscina IV during the 39th Millennium. At the time of Ghazghkull and Nazdreg’s invasion, the Third Company, under the command of Master Belial, was stationed in the system for recruiting."

The Dark Angels aloofness at Vraks wasn't really atypical of Space Marines in general, it's a side-effect of Guilliman segregating the Space Marines from the other branches of the military. The Dark Angels might not be interested in associating with random guard regiments they meet, but I don't think it's a stretch to think they might have bonds of fellowship with regiments raised on their recruiting worlds like Piscina IV, or whom they fought alongside during battles there-on.

A small Mechanicum force wouldn't be unbelievable. Someone keeps their stocks of unique floaty church-mobiles supplied with parts that no-one else seem to get.

An acute observation, but maybe we're being obtuse about the OP's intent?

For a specific campaign, yes.
The guard and dark angels fought together to defend the Kadillus line on Piscina V - it was one of their recruiting systems with a more high tech neighbouring world.

Look at the book Purging of Kadillus.
