I think it has been awhile since we had a thread of pictures of people's army or armies. So I wanted to start another one. I don't mind how many armies someone wants to show off, but I would ask to try and limit what is in each photograph to an actual 2000 point or so list. To start things off I dug up my first army of Black Legion with most of the first GW models I had.
I put together this army after playing a fun game of Kill Team that rekindled my enjoyment of playing Black Legion. So am dusting of the warband to play in some actual full games of 40k again.
Custodes very nice. Excellent basing to match the tile they are on.
I totally don't mind armies being less than 2000pts in this thread. I just kinda wanted to avoid the huge armies that often get shown off in these sort of threads. I do kinda want to see the 2000 point armies from those that have those massive collections like to put together though...
Hints: the Poxwalkers are run as Melecultists.
The Army uses AL and a DA aswell as sorcerers for maximum ethereal -1 feeling.

GW:"Space marines got too many options to balance, therefore we decided to legends HH units." Players: "why?!? Now we finally got decent plastic kits and you cut them?" Chaos marines players: "Since when are Daemonengines 30k models and why do i have NO droppods now?" GW" MONEY.... erm i meant TOO MANY OPTIONS (to resell your army to you again by disalowing former units)! Do you want specific tyranid fighiting Primaris? Even a new sabotage lieutnant!" Chaos players: Guess i stop playing or go to HH.

Please, HOW did you paint that?!?!!?
I am thinking of building some Warp Claws and I would love them to be ethereal alongside my Daemon reinforcements!
It's stupidly easy really. It's the same as the ghost concept army video .
It's als stupidly fast.
Spoiler:
I did a bit more darker washing, and went for a trollslayer mix with khorne red i bleive (not close my paints, i paint by eye generally).
Then i used the same oragne red mixture for the more warptouched units, as you can see, the possesed and the venomcrawler as does the Chained (DA with no face) and the MoP.
You can probably see them better in my blog though, where there is a better description.
Edit: if you want to know more just PM me.

Here the 2000k points army that took me to victory at a local event this past weekend, Dreads and Techmarines FTW. I was using as an ironhands successor chapter for my sins....
Here is the Primaris space marine army I have been using for a bit. Well, I usually had mostly 6 man squads, but wanted to make space to include the dreadnought for the photo
Excellent showings everyone. It is kinda nice to see what 2000 point armies are being used around the world. I find it interesting that a lot of them look thin on infantry to me. Probably my personal bias (the older I get the more I appreciate boots on the ground) as well as me being used to lots of infantry in other miniatures war games similar to 40k's scope.

Most of these look like they have quite a bit of infantry, it looks like to me. Just none of them are IG/Tyranids, so a lot of marines is still a lot less than a small amount of Guardsmen.
In that note, infantry heavy seems to have become popular lately with local players too, given the ease with which vehicles can [and have to be if you want to have any change of making it past basic gatekeepers] be eliminated and the general ridiculous power of codex marine infantry. It's just a lot of really high-value infantry like Aggressors, Cents, and Intercessors which makes for a small army.

Guardsmen, hear me! Cadia may lie in ruin, but her proud people do not! For each brother and sister who gave their lives to Him as martyrs, we will reap a vengeance fiftyfold! Cadia may be no more, but will never be forgotten; our foes shall tremble in fear at the name, for their doom shall come from the barrels of Cadian guns, fired by Cadian hands! Forward, for vengeance and retribution, in His name and the names of our fallen comrades!
Well, that has 70 infantry models. 58 in Disciples 10 in marauders and 2 commanders. It also has 10 random bloodletters for summoning. Also terrible pic is terrible.
Further the wardogs are run as leman russ punishers and 2 canquishers, aswell as a basilisk.
Spoiler:
It's about 2000 pts. probably less.

ITC missions need some boots on the ground to score points and cheap minimum units get the job done.
I mean, I usually play ITC.
It's just that very expensive infantry units seem to be the workhorse of the Space Marine armies right now [with few vehicles, usually just a couple of dreads of invictors], and the place is crawling with Space Marines like you'd never have seen a few months ago.

You are probably correct. Even before I started playing 40k, I leaned heavy toward infantry making up most of forces in platoon/company scoped games. My Warhammer 40k armies never had that much non-infantry either. In fact, my Black Legion picture is just about all the vehicles, dreadnoughts and demon engines I own. Once I get my Havocs all painted up chances are the land raider is getting traded out of the army since I am thinking I am spending a lot points that I don't have a good enough purpose for. Same goes for my Space Marines picture. I have a Storm Raven and an Impulsor. The rest of that army is just infantry.
I think it was mostly the eldar pictures that seems light on infantry to me. The orange Chaos and Necron ones seemed to have numbers more what i have been seeing. I didn't (and still don't) mean anything by it. Just an observation I had from the thread that I thought was kinda interesting.

I can attest that the reason my most recent tourney army was light on infantry was primarily due to time limits. When I run 80-100 model count armies, I have difficulty finishing the game.
No earth shattering, thought provoking quote. I'm just someone who was introduced to 40K in the late 80's and it's become a lifelong hobby.
Well conveniently yesterday before night's game we took photos of my army after our slow grow campaign. So 2k worth of necrons(minus 1 lychguard that is missing). Some stuff didn't get painted for league proper but who cares. Got well over 3k painted for our 2k league
