Both Orks and Tyranids have microscopic forms. Do Ork Spores fight Tyranid micro forms when Orks and Tyranids show down. Was there a massive microscopic front to thr Octarius war that we never got to see?

Yes they do, it was precisely stated during IIRC the octarius war

I'll try. It was something like the Ork spores were trying to out multiplicate the tyranids micro organisms while they were themselves trying to eat them before they grow as full Orks.

EDT:
I found this, I think it comes from the 5th Ed Tyranid codex but I'm not certain.

On every scale a fierce battle raged - Squigs and Rippers tore into each other underfoot as Gaunts and Ork Boyz hacked and slashed at each other; Ork Warbosses and Nobz fought against Tyranid Warriors and Carnifexes; mighty Squiggoths battled thunderously with huge Tyranid Bio-Titans; even on a microscopic level Tyranid Phage Cells consumed the aggressively spreading Orkoid Spores.

It would have been a real party if the Death Guard had been involved.

The mere notion that Orks would not be fighting on any level is ridiculous. Of course their spores fight, that's what Orks do!

I chose an avatar I feel best represents the quality of my post history.

I try to view Warhammer as more of a toolbox with examples than fully complete games.

I actually wonder do tyranids bioengineer plagues to spread into the imperium far ahead of their main force?

They used to, but they got a C&D order from Nurgle and the Death Guard.

GSC really fill that role on a much more dangerous scale.

While preserving lots of accessible biomass, too.

This reminds me of a White Dwarf issue - early 90s - where Squigs were captured orks mutated by the Tyranids, and the orks storm the hive ships to get them back, and they are too late but take the squigs with them anyway, but some get let behind?

OMG it was so sad but made the orks really cool dudes!

So yeah, Orks and Tyranids definitely do go way back. Hmmm...Squigs vs Rippers...

Casual gaming, mostly solo-coop these days.

Oh I hadn't thought of that, but that makes total sense. I already like to think that a conflict between the Orks and the Tyranids is also a metaphysical conflict between the great green gods and the Hive Mind, but of course it's also a cellular conflict.

Of course, Orks are also much less hung up on the right ways to think than humans. One of my favourite bits of Da Regimentul Bosspole is when Badfragg is talking about different types of dakka. Scroll down to the section on Squishy Dakka and you get a real sense of the cheerful bellicosity with which the Orks approach... well, anything.

Well, that'd be more like macrotures than miniatures, wouldn't it? :-P

That article is my favorite one they've done, very entertaining. Orks using looted nid-weapons would be a fun conversion project.
