Good. We shouldn't have too long to wait then.

Man, I really don't care for the Drakes as LotR models, but they're so good I really, really want to find a place for them other than as Salamanders stand-ins.

Posh Sumpkrocs maybe?

And the troll's catapult is even sillier up close.

Ha! The catapult troll is insanely overpriced. $210 ?! I was figuring $140 tops. Wow. They must not want to sell any of those.
The drakes look good, and although high like all GW prices for resin, are more reasonable.

I mean, it's literally sold out within half an hour of going up. So i think they sold all of them.

I think you might be underestimating the size of that thing (or I might be overestimating it), but with Forgeworld I wouldn't have been surprised if they had sold it for 200€/170£

Well, to be fair we really don't know what that means in terms of sales. They could have done a very small run and sold out of them. Unless we know the numbers produced then we really don't know anything. Still available in the US so far.

But who knows? You might be right.

They're going to have to made enough to cover every part of the world they sell in. So it ain't going to be a small amount.

You might be right. Comparing the 160 mm base to give scale for the height of the model that makes it on par with the height of the other gundabad trolls, but the catapult troll is more chunky and has more stuff included (crew, etc).
I wanted to buy at least two, but that price will exceed the cost of a monthly car payment. A little pricey for me. I'm sure it's fine for some people though, so enjoy.

I'd have to agree that the Drakes are only a fraction of the resin required for the siege troll, and £140 feels about right for a model large enough for small characters to be scrambling over it's back. Probably about a third of the size of Smaug's kit?

Speaking of Smaug, a one-off epic-size model would be ideal as a FW release. Afterall, there's plenty of customers who buy GW models and never touch the games. Forgeworld, with it's limited stock, should fill that niche quite comfortably.

Casual gaming, mostly solo-coop these days.

Well, that's sorted at least half of the UK's deficit then.

The galaxy is littered with the single-planet graveyards of civilisations which made the economically sensible decision not to explore space.

Review of the catapult troll:

https://spruesandbrews.com/2025/08/28/gundabad-catapult-troll-war-drakes-of-rhun-unboxing-and-review-middle-earth-sbg/?fbclid=IwY2xjawMdZL5leHRuA2FlbQIxMQABHl2YFiCkEwiecEEa1ppkOCQ76QB5N_y-1gKYYBGgI91i6crGZoc7sPP3F19D_aem_DmuyC2Q7URcujFqR7byyLQ

Surprisingly, the troll only seems to be in 3 major pieces. Now that it doesn't look so horrific to build, i may grab one.

Shouldn't be that bad. Softback, one character and i have to assume the triple pack will be cheaper than 3 individuals.

The price of these releases shouldn't be too bad. Helm around $35 I'd guess.
The three-pack around $65, and the book around $35 (paperback).
