Redemptionists makes for an interesting experience.

Well, potentially interesting, as they said a Cawdor gang can morph into Redemptionists over time.

If your group are carrying gangs over from campaign to campaign, that could be seriously cool!

I'm conflicted about the Redemptionists. Some of the heads in particular look absolute sht.

Are they my two least favourite Necromunda gangs in the starter, maybe.
Definitely not my favourite two..

Redemptionists are cool but not cool enough that I want them, which is nice.

Delaque kit got meh and short range focused to face off again Escher mass cheap lasgun with hotshot pack, at close range escher got the deadly Plasma pistol and power sword.

It's not very balanced.

New starter is definitely interesting, they said it’s an updated rulebook. If it includes campaign rules and is priced similar to the last starter (125$) it wouldn’t be a bad deal. I feel after Catacombs though this box is going to be 200 dollars and a terrible deal. Especially considering you real need to buy the full rulebook, the Escher book, and the Gangs of the Underhive book (which will be outdated in a few months when Delaque get their book) to get the full experience out of it.

I think it’s awesome GW is expanding the core gangs a bit from their original concept, but a “codex” for each one is insane. The way they have handled the rules for Necromunda this go around has been terrible. I hope next edition they take a note from Warcry or Blood Bowl.

Gonna be a bit sad to have a pure Redemption gang of 3 poses

Am I being too optimistic to think that this might not be everything Cawdor is getting?

Wow, three poses and six minis per box.

That is sad.

I’m optimistic that it could be the case.
But in reality, I think this is their extra.

@ Sabotage, why would you need to buy the rulebook?
This comes with the most up to date rulebook there will be..?

If it’s like the previous Underhive starter it will have no campaign rules included, which to me at least, is the most fun part of the game. Also a comprehensive armory will be missing.

Hive War most likely includes a bespoke campaign system like Uprising did.

On Cawdor, the FB team said we might not have seen everything coming for them.

Not exactly the greatest source, and needs a pinch of salt. But hope springs eternal.

Best of all, I crawl closer to my Delaque book.

Well, that could mean resin pets or brutes or champions or anything. I’m not holding my breath for any more plastics.

It is interesting how GW is allowing themselves a place for artistic experimentation with Necromunda. Given that they very much need spaces like that.

Ah fair enough.
Yeah. Almost the only reason to play Necromunda.

Yeah unfortunately I saw that and thought I bet they just mean a character or something.
Really like these. But really disappointed of Cawdor just got another crew as it’s add on.

The first redemptionist revealed was so good, what on earth happened with those heads?

Mixed bag for me, 3 poses....half the heads look like crap. There had better be a lot of extra heads and bits in this kit. Say what you will but after seeing these I think the hoods should have stayed.

Glad for a new starter box, dark uprising was too expensive and this one looks more accessible.

Or get the Cawdor head pack from FW, plenty of good heads there for Reds.

Scotland, but nowhere near my rulebook

And if you're going to add them to Cawdor, you should have a couple of spare heads from that.

Mind you, I quite like the heads. If you can't afford a fire hat, spike your hair up and dye it orange.

Vigo. Spain.

Are this heads horrible? Yes they are.

Are at least original and offer some kind of the old 80 punk aesthetic back in modern plastic for people that likes those? Yes they do.

Is that a good thing? Personally , the 80s-90s should stay back in the past.

Theres enough KKK like heads out there for people that wants them.

Dakka does have White Knights and is also rather infamous for it's Black Knights. A new edition brings out the passionate and not all of them are good at expressing themselves in written form. There have been plenty of hysterical responses from both sides so far. So we descend into pointless bickering with neither side listening to each other. So posting here becomes more masturbation than conversation.

That's less experimentation than just... plain old nostalgia. GW had a load of models with wacky joy joy hair exactly like that back in 3rd edition fantasy and RT 40k.

Efficiency is the highest virtue.

Looks like it is meant to resemble jester masks and caps with the hair and mask.

Didn't GW releases a card set a few months back called Hive Wars? Do you think they might put a new version of them in the box set?
The updated rules and What Tactic cards come with the box set that has me most worried.
I don't want to spend $200+ on a box set that I already have most of just to get a few pages of rules
and a card or two from the tactic cards.
