They'd probably have forced him to do his famous intro in a Count Chocula accent... it's probably better this way.

Nope. Scratch that, forget he had a resculpt a whole back.

However, fairly confident it does mean Warp Spiders are the oldest? Space Wolf characters were from the very tail end of Rogue Trader, Warp Spiders fairly early 2nd Ed.

Excluding Armour through the Ages Njal (in PA) and the two Jes Goodwin Servitors are as old as Ragnar.

I’m not sure on the Servitors? Definitely remember them from 2nd Ed, but memories of RT are hazy,

What about Dante, Corbulo and Tycho. I honestly dont know how old they are, but they look kind of dated.

Oh, and really cool new models. Really glad to see Ragnar get a great paintjob too.

Fight of the Millenium?

It seems like this "fight" exemplifies the Psychic Awakening campaign book series in that there aren't any real consequences. Apparently, both these main characters suffer figurative off screen deaths that are immediately nullified for the rematch planned before the new figs are previewed? That makes comic book character death tropes look positively permanent in comparison.

If we're going by pro wrestling rules, they'll draw again this time around to set up a 2 out of 3 falls match at the next PPV.

Yeah, terrible writing on this one. The short story was much more interesting and I'm wondering if it's going to be expanded upon, and/or even herald some new miniatures!

Ding, ding, ding! And there we have it: Ragnar did indeed lop off Ghaz's head, but as predicted, a Painboy reattached it, as you can see the staples around his neck.

id like for them to cut that the heck out with that in general. it just fowls up all kinds of stuff and just seems less stable. but it looks like they are REALLY into "dynamic" posing now.

Dynamic meaning "we love masonry!"

Ghaz looks ridiculous? He's on some comparatively small piece of metal, that's fine. otherwise he's basically just standing and aiming his gun. Ragnar is perched on a Standard Issue Eldar Rock for some reason.

i guess the saving grace for Ragnar is how easily it'll be to just...take the rock out and put him on the friggin base.

Ragnar went hard in his first fight against Ghazghkull, willing to sacrifice his life to put an end to the alien menace. He fought with skill and bravery but ended up with an arm sheared off, a broken neck and several fist-size rents in his armour.

How come Ragnar doesn’t seem to have a bionic arm?

Actually it's less than ten hours (I had a brain fart in my last post and was using Eastern time). GW forgot that that the US went on Daylight Saving time over the weekend. It's already after 10 a.m. in Reno, NV.

Ragnar's on the same piece of statuary as Shadowsun. I wouldn't go expecting him to be fairly easy to take off of the part unfortunately.

Maybe he's sensible and decided to wear his armor over the bionic arm so as not to let his new arm take unnecessary damage. While promptly forgetting to wear a helmet and leaving his unhelmeted head exposed, you know after he just barely avoided dying.

Ragnar (which, fun fact...was apparently originally supposed to be a 2nd version of Leman Russ...but was then changed to Ragnar because Primarchs were re-storied, etc.) actually looks solid, other than the continued fascination with leaping off crap. Iconic, looks the part, has the bits, and is generally a solid update.

Old Leman Russ:

Ghaz on the other hand...pretty underwhelming, and is more ruined by a completely stupid stance. He's a big ork, and they managed to deliver almost zero character in the sculpting which is a shame.

Ghaz is... overdone. All of his things are comically oversized, but each one individually, not all together, if that makes sense, so that all sense of scale and proportion is lost. He's not a BIG model - he's a model with a BIG left arm and a BIG right arm and BIG feet and a BIG back.

The Ragnar model looks ridiculous to me, and Ghazghkull looks amazing, just goes to show you how it's really just our opinions.

This. we wouldn't have any people claiming such a thing if they would just get over their fascination of things leaping off masonry and plant the models on the ground. it made some sense to me even if i didn't like it on some eldar, but then weird stuff like Drazhar, and now these models perched just is annoying.

personally I can only just barely stand this Ghaz. and it's because it's Ghaz. it's got nothing to do with me liking the model. im skipping right over the mentioned decapping.

Army: none currently.

Yes I know, it was a joke.

Considering he is wearing armor over presumably a bionic arm. Unless the Rubicon regrows limbs.

Oh not feeling these models :(

Rangnar is tip toeing up a tactical bit of metal - I onwder if he is wearing the wolves that used to accompany him.

So the story is Ragnar killed Ghaz and Ghaz killed Ragnar and neither of them died.....

Ghaz is abit too top heavy for me but ok.

Gun smoke is quite fun I guess

Yeah, tactical rocks are annoying for me as well. The only time I've enjoyed them is on my Harlequins, because they actually increase the posing options available to me (I can cut the models off easily, and then use the ribbons/legs/open-handed arms to model the harlequins flipping around) but Harlequins actually make sense to be acrobatically flipping about. A space marine pirouetting off a rock like a harlequin just looks bizarre, doubly so because Ragnar would have looked perfectly fine posed like that but just on the regular ground.

I do enjoy the fact that while everyone is complaining about Ragnar's unhelmeted head, Ghazzy still has exposed orky boy dungarees.

Doubt it. Wolves aren’t exactly known to wear helmets at best of time and Ghazghkull technically already has his welded to his skull by Grotsnik anyway
