How do?
So this is something that just appeared in my Brain, after watching some fascinating videos about Ants, therefore thinking Nids, and because of how my brain works, thinking about books.
Those old/lucky enough, may have read BL’s rather good Xenos Biology art book. It was pretty ace, and threw a cat amongst the pigeons of my brain in its day. Sadly I lent it to a good friend, who moved, moved, and moved again, and it’s kind disappeared into the aether. Can’t be helped, and no it’s not theft, just misfortune.
Anyways, there’s a point to this. Probably. Maybe I’ll get to it, maybe I won’t. Who knows. Not bloody me, matey.
What I would *love* are books of some kind from BL which are art heavy, of questionable canon, and focus on the biology of different species. Think.....The Diaries of Magos Biologis Daveth Attenburg.
Just pure background. Can freely feature entirely new species and specimens, amongst the better known races going under the knife. And being 40k (apologies to the squeamish) studies pre, mid and post mortem.
Would you collect it? I’d collect it?
It puts the background in the book, or it gets the hose again!

I like it. I loved the Xenos book you mentioned.

-"Wait a minute.....who is that Frazz is talking to in the gallery? Hmmm something is going on here.....Oh.... it seems there is some dispute over video taping of some sort......Frazz is really upset now..........wait a minute......whats he go there.......is it? Can it be?....Frazz has just unleashed his hidden weiner dog from his mini bag, while quoting shakespeares "Let slip the dogs the war!!" GG

Xenology is still my favourite BL book, even got the special edition.
The etching style pictures are beautiful.
There's a Cthulhu bestiary out there that it similarly beautiful.
They can take inspiration from the innumerable RPG bestiaries out there.
They should do it as a series covering different types of xenos, from the sapient species to the bestial and maybe even the demonic

Some time back FW had a ‘Monstrous Arcanum’ book, kind of like the ‘Imperial Armour’ of WHFB, then Alan Bligh tipped over, and that was it, no more after the initial book.

That FW Monstrous Arcanum sells for a small fortune whenever it appears for secondhand sale.

I shall hassle, prod and poke BL at Warhammerfest accordingly!
Been too long since we had a sort of art book/source book.
I’d definitely be in for the super special edition!

God yeah! I loved the various lore bit in the OG rulebooks too. Rando aliens, mocked up impetial reports etc.
Sadly I think modern GW operates is in a place where if it doesnt sell a minature for it, thus cant iron clad its IP it wont be featuring in any of its work.
Because even if they dont do anything with the concept, someone else WILL make a minature. And they cant have that.

I dunno.
There’s a lot of flora and fauna mentioned in BL fare which don’t have, and probably never will have, models. Especially AoS.

Huge amounts of heroes, villians, units and monsters in Age of Sigmar novels not represented in the model range
Huge amounts of heroes, villians, monsters, units and vehicles in novels not represented in the model range - see especially Tau and Knight Households.

There's whole short stories about things too. There's one basically about sea-sylvaneth with nyads and mermaids and seaserpents. Basically a totally underwater army that currently has no similar likeness in the GW range.
Then there's stuff that's clearly conversion-fodder like the range of grot, orruk and skaven armies that have stolen Khadoran airships and put them to their own use. Seriously those Khadoran's loose so many ships its amazing they've got an air-fleet! Heck in one story Skaven don't just steal an airship but a whole mountain top!

I'd buy it. Always wanted the original. Gw should do more straight lore books. Or just better lore in their normal books (looking at you pa).
