Hello all,

I was wondering how the following interaction works.

Scenario:
A Relic Leviathan Dreadnought is made a character via the 'March of the Ancients' stratagem.
When it dies I want to use the 'Only in death does duty end' stratagem.

Since I doubt this stratagem was written with degrading dreadnoughts in mind, I am unsure how this would work.
Safest route I reckon would be to use the profile with 1 wound remaining.

However I was wondering if this is the correct interpretation, or if the degradation is supposed to be ignored.
Or if there is something preventing the stratagem being used at all.

Cheers for any feedback.

Unknown. The rules dont cover this situation. GW creates new rules without thinking about interaction with other rules.

Agreed. GW FAQed for Hive Tyrants to count as 1 wound but that only applies to Hive Tyrants.

Also of note, the Forge World books are going to be replaced some time in the near future so any answer is likely to change.

This isnt a FW issue. It's two GW stratagems interacting with each other.

Remember that there's a Relic Leviathan in the mix as well.

And you'd have the exact same issue with a redemptor dreadnought.

I'd suggest to just take the Hive Tyrant ruling as an example and use the lowest tier in such cases.

Use the lowest tier of the damage table. That’s the previous guidance we have for a similar situation.

The only possible answer is the highest tier, because SM
