Thursday the 12th for me. Later that day, someone I know who works at a hospital briefed me on some things. Such as 'shortage of testing kits' like we heard in the media really meant 'there are no kits'. Such as 'no reported cases' really meant 'oh, we definitely have *presumed* cases'. And just generally how unready the hospitals really are for what could come.

Anyway..when doctors and hospital staff are spooked, I get spooked. Contacted some friends and family that night to try to impress upon them that things were about to really get serious.

It's funny a doctor friend of mine told me all about this in like 2005 or so. We'd have to shut down all flights, confine people to their houses, limit travel within the country...

We were talking about if Avian Influenza mutated to become more contagious but I can remember those conversations clear as day.

Last weekend was when everything seemingly changed here in the UK from something we were basically spectators of.. A handful of cases, and moderate panic buying of toilet roll, to, oh s**t countrywide impact by Monday morning. Last Friday I was happy, everything was normal. Had my UAV pilot tests lined up in April, followed by the disbandment parade for my old squadron, a vintage 40s/50s weekend that we've attended yearly since 2015, and whfest in May, where I had golden demon entries lined up for 5 categories.
I went shopping on Friday and the shop had everything, except toilet roll, which caused me minor annoyance due to human stupidity. By Monday all that was cancelled. I haven't been to the shop again yet but I've heard they've been stripped this week.

I've spent the week buying extra tins of food from the shop on my unit just in case. We're fortunate to have the shop, as it has a limited customer base and not available to the public, and our mess has given them big freezers to store more stuff in.

I know it's not much to complain about when people are dying and losing their jobs though.

I'm hoping that it will die down again by summertime. I have a basing workshop booked in September with Oliver spaeth and I don't want that to get cancelled too.

Apart from needing to go to 20 different shops every week just to get general shopping it’s still normal for me.
Work hours have been cut back slightly and weekend work cancelled for everyone, but pretty much just normal still (for now anyway)

Well for normal life it hasn't changed much, in fact work has gotten very busy as i work in the food supply chain(with all the panic buying going on). the government considers it a vital industry in this crisis so i get a waiver even if they do shelter in place orders.

As for the more important gaming-that would be last saturday 3/14/20 the hysteria had not set in yet, we had a good 15-20 players at the FLGS i got in 2 games of 40K and a demo game of DUST. now the gaming area is shut down until this is over. i am hoping to get at minimum the rest of my DUST AXIS force painted before this is over, perhaps i will even get my allied heavy ranger army fully painted.

Everything is still pretty much the same for me, honestly. I'm a postal worker so I don't have the luxury of working from home. I consider myself very fortunate to be in a line of work that isn't getting hit by lay offs right now, I have a great deal of sympathy for everyone that has lost their jobs over this. The wife is a store manager whose shop has been closed down for 2 weeks, so it's been really nice to always have her home when i get off work, but other than that it's been fairly same old, same old. Oh, and the reduced traffic! Toronto is normally quite a hell hole for getting around but lately it's been absolutely sublime driving around the city.

Today, things are more or less unchanged for me. Still have to go in to work and that and like the above it's been hell with the panic buying and customers generally being crappy atm but kind of feels like they're starting to at least settle a little.

This thread makes me really sad.

For me I suppose it was before I had to concern myself with possibly contracting the China-virus. This would have been... mid February.

I've been self quarantined since March 16th and it's possible I'll be quarantined for another 4-5 weeks as I'm located in one of the more impacted areas in the US.

I ventured out yesterday to collect food and supplies. Came home, stripped down, disinfected and showered. I probably will not dare to venture out for another week.

For me it was late January at the BETT 2020 show. We had two guests from Hong Kong, and we already knew the disease had begun in China. We all shook hands even so, but they did not want to go back to China because they were afraid.

It was about that time our Chinese offices sent their workers home.

We got the news that a colleague in the Hong Kong office had been tested positive.

Things have got a lot madder since then.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news but be prepared for the not unrealistic possibility that these measures are going to last till late 2021 (vaccine ETA), severity depending on how well the virus is under control.

Anyway, my last normal day was March 7, celebrated my birthday with my girlfriend. Went for a long walk in the forest and then had dinner in a restaurant. One week later almost my entire social life was shattered (I go social dancing often which obviously is not possible right now, nor is going to the FLGS where I normally play Warhammer) for gods know how long. Haven't entirely made up my mind yet on whether it's responsible to see platonic friends right now, so for now I err on the side of caution and only see my girlfriend and parents once in a while. And I'm horrible with social media as well so I hope I'm not going to lose all my platonic friends over this fething virus

March 8th. I live in New York, just outside the city. Noone came out to our FLGS (this is gonna really hurt them), and then my family and I went to a Birthday dinner for our eldest. The spot we planned on going was in a Quarantine zone, so we kept it local. The next day at work we were hit with a huge rush. I work at a Grocery store, as manager of the Frozen department, and also Grocery stock and unloading. I'm on day 14 of work, with no time off, most of these 10, 12, 14 hour days. I suppose I'm lucky to have such an "essential" job but I cannot just stay home like everyone else. I am surrounded by literally the whole town I live in, and I still have to commute through public transportation just to get to work every day, and leave every night.

Truth is, we arent getting our deliveries, and the ones that are shipped have a cap limit on how much we can order per delivery, and it is not enough to even make a dent.

I am a self employed building site manager. I have 3 guys who work for me directly and manage up to 30 others, the majority of whom are self employed. Up until about 2 weeks ago Covid-19 was something which was happening half the world away and felt like it wouldn't affect us. As the cases became more numerous and it spread ever closer it became a big conversation piece. As Italy began to see huge numbers die it became the only topic of conversation. Every time it was mentioned all sorts of scenarios were discussed and I could see the fear in the faces of those who I know to be strong men. Yesterday we received the news all of our sites were to close with immediate effect, with making safe works to go no further than Monday. Myself and my 3 colleagues spent today alone securing our site before loading up our tools and locking the gate indefinitely. Today I said goodbye to 3 people I have worked and lived alongside for nearly 5 years without knowing when I will see them again. In 3 weeks time I will issue their final payments and hope that I receive mine from my customer. Others have it far, far worse but if I could experience a day like I did 4 weeks ago when my biggest concern was suspected asbestos in some floor tiles we had to drill (turns out it wasn't following testing) I'd be a very, very happy man.

Damn, I've been in Egypt for about 2 months before coming up once there was a real risk of not having flights back home and had no idea there was any kind of mini scene in Cairo.

So I guess my last normal day was somewhere in January before heading over there. I've returned to a locked down country.

I would say my last normal day was last Friday (March 20). Sure, the weekend before that had been interesting when I went grocery shopping and so much was gone from the store, but it didn't really affect me as I was still able to get all the stuff I really wanted that weekend. Friday could have been different, too, as our local store had cancelled Friday Night Magic, but my wife and I weren't going that night anyway due to being worn out from work that day. So, Saturday (March 21) was the first day that all of this really had an impact on my daily life, as I was not able to go out for my usual breakfast that morning, and there was a line to get in to Home Depot afterwards when I went to by stuff for the garden.
All very minor inconveniences, I know, and nothing compared to how it's been for others around the globe.

Hiding behind terrain

Went to shops to grab Nolzur's D&D Beholder and Blue Dragon minis while they had them and before the virus spreads worse. Walked through the length of the shopping centre and seen about 80-100 people coughing. Pretty much half of the people in shops. Got that sinking feeling and left out the nearest exit after grabbing the minis. Rather walk in the rain than breathe in that gak.

We're only meant to have 170 known cases in South Australia but seeing all those already coughing has got me rattled. We're so fethed.

Well, personally I have a mild kind of OCD-cough (I've had that since long before the corona- outbreak). I cough once in a while, throat gets mildly irritated causing me to cough again etc. etc.. Vicious cycle. Completely and 100% unrelated to viruses though, and I'm certain I'm not the only one who has a reflexive or habitual cough. Then there's also the common cold, seasonal influenza, people getting bits of dust in their throats etc.. Still I know how you feel. Went to the supermarket for food yesterday when in came an elderly woman who had a cough and who didn't seem all too concerned about keeping 1.5 meters (Dutch guideline for keeping distance at the moment) of distance. I was trying to avoid her like she was emitting high-radioactive radiation Sad and funny at the same time...

Hmmm.... I want to say it was 2 weeks ago. Been putting in a lot of overtime at my job for unrelated reasons so things had been crazy to begin with. But I remember going to Kroger Thursday before last and seeing the panic buying start. Went ahead and grabbed a thing of tp and the regular essentials, didnt think much of it. Same thing you do when you hear snow is coming around here, you just go ahead and grab a pack while you're in town because if you remembered wrong you'll regret it

Went back in a few days later and the panic had truly kicked in, had been working so much I hadn't really heard much going on and it kind of caught me off guard. Much more bare shelves than if we were getting snow. That was when it struck me that this one was gonna be different. That was when I made the call to my grandparents telling them I wouldn't be coming over for a while and stuff like that.

Adrift within the vortex of my imagination.

Its still basically normal for me. My circumstances are not usual though.

First, I am disabled, moderately, and part-carer for a family member who is severely disabled. So I don't get out much anyway. My games are cancelled and I cant go to church and will notice that.

Second, I am a prepper and researched prepping, consequences et al, from both survivalist and religious sources and the advice I read was right on the money, so the circumstances hadn't changed to anything unexpected.

Third, I am continuing to watch with eye for the prophetic gift. While I had no specifics I was expecting a crisis. God said so and I believed Him. I was told to prepare back in 2018, so I did. I thought I was prepping for No Deal Brexit, now I know I was prepping for this. Later there was repeated warning of 'fire' and 'plague' in the network though late 2019 so coronavirus was seen by our community as "its starting" rather than "what just happened!".
I have been waiting for something to happen for a year now, and am not worried because I know I will be looked after.
This is why its normal to me.

In respect to the no-relgion rule I wont be going into specifics here. But if anyone wants links to the prophetic forum and YouTube channel, which has been very accurate, PM me.

n'oublie jamais - It appears I now have to highlight this again.

It is by tea alone I set my mind in motion. By the juice of the brew my thoughts aquire speed, my mind becomes strained, the strain becomes a warning. It is by tea alone I set my mind in motion.
