For me it was Feb 29.

I went to a Makers' Faire, met the only other mini painter in Egypt, ate a nice lunch and got the kids ready for school the next week.

It was nice.

Friday was probably the last 'normal' work day for me. We had a mass 'work from home' trial on Monday, basically to see if the infrastructure could cope, and then our offices closed on Tuesday. With the exception of critical staff, which I apparently am. My team are going to be rotating onsite cover though, so I'm in this week but will work from home next week. It's pretty eerie, about 20 people in an office of usually 400+. Reminds me of when I used to work nights.

Sunday. Had a few friends over to help us move our biggest furniture items, finally got everything into my new house, and then kicked back on some random furniture items and boxes and toasted the coming end of the world.

"Got you, Yugi! Your Rubric Marines can't fall back because I have declared the tertiary kaptaris ka'tah stance two, after the secondary dacatarai ka'tah last turn!"

"So you think, Kaiba! I declared my Thousand Sons the cult of Duplicity, which means all my psykers have access to the Sorcerous Facade power! Furthermore I will spend 8 Cabal Points to invoke Cabbalistic Focus, causing the rubrics to appear behind your custodes! The Vengeance for the Wronged and Sorcerous Fullisade stratagems along with the Malefic Maelstrom infernal pact evoked earlier in the command phase allows me to double their firepower, letting me wound on 2s and 3s!"

"you think it is you who has gotten me, yugi, but it is I who have gotten you! I declare the ever-vigilant stratagem to attack your rubrics with my custodes' ranged weapons, which with the new codex are now DAMAGE 2!!"

"...which leads you straight into my trap, Kaiba, you see I now declare the stratagem Implacable Automata, reducing all damage from your attacks by 1 and triggering my All is Dust special rule!"

The project I have been assigned to at work for the last 6 months or so doesn't require me to be onsite with the customer so I have been working at home continuously. Self-isolation and social distancing is a bit of busman's holiday for me so far.

Tuesday, 3/10/20. I was about to say Wednesday, but my program ended early Wednesday because the scare was ramping up and people refused to see the dentist, so I went back to the office, had a meeting, and went home. I went to the office the next day with a runny nose (allergic reaction to a cleaning spray) and was sent home. I haven’t been back to the office since and have worked from home. Yesterday we were all told we’d be furloughed starting next week and paid on a day-by-day basis.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

Probably Sunday 15th March. Was covering for my pastor so I led the church service in the morning, had lunch with my gf, chilled out for a couple hours and then went to church in the evening, when my pastor was back and led the evening service.

Then on Monday, the guy next to me in the office got quarantined and half the office started working from home. I am part of the remaining skeleton crew as a small part of my job is workshop related, but I have been advised to take my laptop home with me each day just in case we get a sudden 'work from home' notice.

Tuesday 10/3 . Was working overtime as usual and left work at 20.00. Went home and looked despondently at my Bretonnians. The next day one of our clients came in wearing mask and gloves and announced he was a carrier.
Now i am crunching my paid leave and painting Pegasus Knights.

I think today will be the last day that's close to normal. Tomorrow I begin working from home. I feel like I wouldn't have minded it a few years ago. But we have a toddler now. Its gonna be hard to explain to him, that yes, daddy is technically home and would love more than anything to play with him, but I can't. I have to work.

Been working from home since the start of the week, which is a bit odd. On the other hand, this feels oddly familiar since I usually only go out for work or errands.

We have a cat. Sounds similar, except the cat can move around and plant himself in front of the screen!

Been told that by my company too, either use holiday or take it as unpayed but hey if we do end up being ill at the end of the isolation at least we get the princely sum of the 94 pounds sick pay to tide us through. Good times.

Define "normal".

7 days a week I battle a sleeping disorder.

2 days a week I am supposed to volunteer for a charitable organisation in their office doing administration. I frequently have times I cannot attend that role due to the aforementioned sleep disorder. The plug has been pulled on that role anyway due to the C-virus. The last time I was there was last Monday, March 9th.

The other 5 days a week I spend futilely looking for employment, and/or painting/modelling/surfing the internet/video gaming and occasionally visiting my gaming buddy in Sudbury, Suffolk (20 miles and a 2 hour bus ride away from me).

2 years unemployed, little to no administration jobs around, no finances (or mental capacity) to retrain (wouldn't know what to retrain as either), health issues that put me in an "at risk" group and limit me to sitting behind a desk anyway, panic over C-virus hitting hard (the figures here in the UK don't add up to the response), doubtful that I will return to volunteering with the organisation I have been embedded in this past 9 months...

...not looking goof for me, let alone "normal"...

I can't speak from experience and don't always know when to keep my nose out of other peoples' business, so I apologize if anything I say next comes across as rude or presumptuous.
You mentioned administration work. Have you tried looking into data entry work? When I started job hunting a couple of years ago, I noticed that data entry clerk postings were more frequent than postings for archivists and administrative assistants. They might not require a retrain either.
Also, have you tried looking into government work? If there is a focus or plan for workplace accessibility, they might be able to come up with some workplace accommodation for the sleep disorder. I'm not familiar with the UK government departments, but I would imagine that they may have at least some need for admin help.

Regardless, take care over there.

Stopped my gaming group late January (although another player said he wasn't able to make it for the next few weeks) and stopped going to the YMCA as well. One Asian woman was wearing a face mask around the pool (and a classmate there told me of how she got a foot infection weeks before in the locker rooms before remodeling), then I heard of the Coronavirus, so stopped going.

We had some work around the house, and I walked the dog more. Still painting miniatures and trying to find space in the house to store the unpainted ones that seem to be appearing. Filtering out Coronavirus news for Mom. Watching forums change over the weeks from TP jokes to CLOSE THE SCHOOL NOW. Waiting for the market volatility to stop before DCA'ing back into it. Now, tax time is coming along, so I'll still be busy. Oh, and it seems that I'm backing four KS simultaneously, none with plastics made in China.

March 15th. That night the Governor recommended all schools to close in our state. At that moment, my wife realized that this was serious business.

I had been urging some more stringent measures since the 11th, but she was not convinced it would be much of an impact in our rural area.

@SkavenLord -

Thank you for your input.

Unfortunately any type of admin, be it data entry, govt. related, or whatever, is very thin on the ground in my area of the UK, I cannot drive either, which also does not help.

Plus it's going to be even worse now because all office workers are going to be doing their cushy little jobs from home as a result of current government advice.

Meanwhile, as I'm unemployed, I'm expected to carry on as normal, look for jobs that don't exist, go out to regular job coach appointments etc. etc. etc.

Here in the UK, we are having a complete over reaction to this, given the numbers involved, and it's having a severe impact on the lives of people like me.

Volunteering was the one thing that gave me a distraction from the futility of job hunting, now I don't even have that because I am only able to volunteer in an office type environment and offices are all shutting down and going to remote working.

And that's not going to change for months, 4 at the very least, given current UK govt. "guidance"!

Sorry, I shouldn't air that on here.

Thursday the 12th for me. Later that day, someone I know who works at a hospital briefed me on some things. Such as 'shortage of testing kits' like we heard in the media really meant 'there are no kits'. Such as 'no reported cases' really meant 'oh, we definitely have *presumed* cases'. And just generally how unready the hospitals really are for what could come.

Anyway..when doctors and hospital staff are spooked, I get spooked. Contacted some friends and family that night to try to impress upon them that things were about to really get serious.

Probably March 6th or so. I popped in to the nearby drug store to buy soda and saw there was still toilet paper, albeit a low stock and shrugged it off as everything being ok.

Since then rising tension has led to outright panic at work (yesterday everyone bolted on the rumor the local public transit would shut down) and today work is closed until further notice.

It's getting to be a pretty crazy world out there. Need to get my leather vest and post-apoc hair dye out.

I prefer to buy from miniature manufacturers that *don't* support the overthrow of democracy.
