Anyone else watching?

Just finishing the first episode and seems like a good show so far....

Prepare to be disappointed.

I really love the premise of October Faction. I'm all for more shows like Supernatural but without Supernatural's melodramatic bs. It's a shame October Faction rapid devolves into being 50% melodramatic bs. Here's an idea for whoever is writing there shows; all the principle character sit the feth down and have a real conversation about their problems, like normal people. Then we can have a show about monster hunting instead of half a show about monster hunting and half a show about dysfunctional families that fail to even try to communicate.

Sadly, that is what the majority of viewers "actually want" IS melodrama.

It frustrates me too.

Oh, I like melodrama. Well executed melodrama can add a lot to a series without making it depressing.

Melodramatic BS on the hand, is bs. Melodramatic BS is where normal melodrama is raised to a preposterous level, to the point that people cease to be functioning individuals and become little more than whatever dramatic tick is their character.

Case and point, the two kids in October Faction are 'the gay guy" and the "outsider girl." They fit the stereotypes of these characters flawlessly, to a T and that is their entire character. They have nothing else really going on except for their stereotypes and the most basic drama that comes with those stereotypes. It's bs. Nothing more than the lowest common denominator.

I would agree with that - they are def the least interesting characters - although I did like the way they chatted in Japanese when they wanted to discrete.

I thnk if it had had twice the length it would have been more satsifying ending - it felt quite rushed.

Yeah, did anyone else feel like maybe someone accidentally cut half of the last episode? Wtf happened? Why did the dad have a purgatory bit then not return? What happened to the rioting kids? And the main kids? Left a lot unexplained. Felt like they got to the end and were like, crap we've got a bunch of threads to tie up, just scrunch them into a ball and go..

Yeah it got more and more rushed, some cool stuff though but no second season.

So now onto Locke and Key

i thought it had a solid premise, but found it a struggle to give enough of a damn to finish the season, and i rather doubt i'd bother with a season 2 if it happened

Somewhere Steve Carrel’s mouth is twitching uncontrollably.

“That’s.....what.....sh sh sh....”

Damn, I was going to check that out, but if it’s anything like Supernatural - Hard Pass.

I hate it when the only thing holding the plot together is the characters lack of communication. I end up yelling at the screen “just fetching TELL THEM!!!!!”

That final episode was terrible, but really most of the show was really not that good.

Geoff and Viv were not strong enough characters and the timeframe of the show was way to compressed, despit trying to make it seem longer with flashbacks.

Also, there was not a single twist that I did not see coming a mile away, which may or may not be a bad thing.

It was ok. Not great, less compelling to me than Supernatural, but not like bad or anything. Except for maybe the ending. The felt Way rushed. Like it was just suddenly done.
