Nice! I already own all that, but it's a great gesture to the community!

I'll also chime in to recommend purchasing the full Perilous Dark book, it's one of the best resources for solo wargame scenario design I've seen in a long while, if not ever.

Joe's Rangers of Shadow Deep is another great solo product, based off of the same ruleset as Frostgrave, but built from the ground up for solo/co-op narrative play!

Good stuff! Thanks for posting

FYI the code seems to work for the epub versions as well as pdf's, even though the blog post only mentions pdf's

I actually don't seem to have dark alchemy although I do have most of the others. Just getting ready to start a campaign of Rangers now I know whats next. This is really cool of the two of them to do.

Quick question for anyone who's taken advantage of this offer.

Did you have to go through the checkout and "purchase" them or is there a way to do a straight download from the site?
If the former, has anyone had any issues with the items disappearing from the cart after you apply the coupon and then click to the next stage?

The Osprey site is pretty wonky right now, have been trying to get a password reset for a few days now.

You add them to the cart as normal, fill in the discount code (reducing the price to 0, if you didn't buy anything else), then continue through checkout. At the payment step, there should be a "no payment required" option or somesuch (again, if purchasing nothing else), after which you can download them from your account.
Had some issues with the Osprey site some days ago, but everything worked fine the day after.

I'd love to get the free PDFs, but the site keeps reseting my location from UK to Rest Of The World, leaving me trapped in a continual loop.

It's very frustrating

Osprey is looking like it has crashed.

That is a wonderful gesture, it might be a small action, but it is one that I am sure people will be both thankful of and remember well.

Good job Osprey!

The objective of the game is to win. The point of the game is to have fun. The two should never be confused.

Very generous move by Osprey and Joe.

First game with Frostgrave was played solo, when it had no such rules and even in that state it was a blast. In a nutshell I took a Tau-banshee conversion, which happened to have a snowy base and winter cloak and they had crashed near Felstead. Basically the crash attracts the attention of a pack of wolves and the "visiter" has to leg it to an cave on the other side of the long map before he's overrun by them. I used a pack of Fenris wolves and at the end of each turn you'd roll a D6 and depending on the score you'd deploy one wolf at the north, south or west edge of the table. It was fun incorporating a sci-fi character into a fantasy game as the Eldar are sometimes visually compatable( Warlock with a dual-handed witchblade, for example ).

But yes, give this a look. You'll be glad you did!

Casual gaming, mostly solo-coop these days.

What’s Frostgrave about?

Two competing war bands led by wizards exploring an ancient magical city full of wizardly goodies to steal. The city was captured within a magical blizzard for hundreds of years and is now just possible to go in and find artifacts and more. War band earns experience and your wizard gains experience as well. So sort of necromunda with fantasy and wizards.

Very cool of Joe and Osprey to do this. I've got most of the published books anyway but the e-copies are also appreciated, and it only generates goodwill - which will keep me (and no doubt a lot of others) buying them for years to come.

Took a fair bit of work, but all is right with the world of Frostgrave, now.

I also just picked up an old Zombie Dragon from my local shop... The "Old" GW one. Got to take it easy for the weekend, I guess.

A great little game - which I bought on release.
Two issues: No fighter characters and quite unbalanced spells (Telekinesis spring to mind as being especially OP when claming treasures).

There are Captains in the Sellsword expansion.

But yes, certain spells are quite unbalanced, sometime you need to make a few houserules to balance them out (like no Leaping if you are carrying Treasure, for example).

Nice work from osprey. I've downloaded both. Didn't have the dark alchemy book.

it's the quiet ones you have to look out for. Their the ones that change the world, the loud ones just take the credit for it.
