Anyone else notice that the Legion of the Damned models have been removed from GW's webstore? I wonder if this means that there could be plastic Legion of the Damned in the future, or if GW is just removing them entirely. Thoughts?

You may be overthinking this.

I think the most probably thing is a hiccup in GW’s webpage. Which is not uncommon.

Second most likely is that they are quietly retiring them.

Third would be new plastics. Due to their nature, they could easily fit into the psychic awaking narrative, as they have strong ties to warp shenanigans. But I’m not going to hold my breath. (but would probably grab a box)

Aren't their rules Legends only now? I think it's more they're just dropping them again.

Well, not that you can take much stock in it. There was word coming out of BOLS, that they were being removed and getting a rather large rework with for something to do with the Psychic Wakening run. As well as getting a specific upgrade kit for weapon upgrades.

Though this was only partially coming from GW and that was over eight months ago. Last I saw, the account that reported most of this stuff on Twitter had posted nothing for almost two months. Then it posted some leaked images for the new Necron character, as well as hinting at a possible return for the Pariahs.

But this was so long ago and such a shot in the dark, that I don't think they were on the ball about the Legion of the Damned bit.

They'd recently gotten new models and even a re-fresh on their rules. But I think the main issue for them being gone, is the fact that their rules did not in anyway mesh with the new play style that 8th brought along with it.

We could be waiting for a while to see them again.

You may be joking, but I’ve seen some people do conversions, and it could look cool.

There was a thread in the background section a bit ago if it was lore-appropriate. Due the the foggy, mysterious back story, it’s certainly possible.

They were still on the UK website recently (even after they were moved to Legends at the end of last year), but they disappeared sometime this year.

It's because they were moved to legends, they are not a supported line anymore.
