I used GW paints: Bugman's Glow, then Cadian Fleshtone, washed with Reikland Flesh, then highlights with Kislev Flesh. Then Carroburg Crimson thinned down over everything and Druuchi Violet in the deep recesses.

Necron
Chaos Space Marines

The bone exoskeletal parts looks really good and tie the model together nicely.
Busy model hard to do justice, but you really nailed it.

Solid work. Base rim is a bit messy bits of static grass and stuff on it.

Edit: Also grey bases and static grass don't really go together it's not something you see much at a high level. The sand grains are also too big to look like a good home for grass. Normally for grey bases you'll add some kind of clutter or use like red/warm patches to add interest.

The base rim is clean now, that grass just stuck there since I took the picture right after putting it on. I don't like basing and can't be bothered to do more than that. I also won't use other sand and colours since that's exactly what my gaming board looks like, I really like it when it comes together.

Doesn't change that your're right in the way that other people probably could do much better looking bases. I just won't
