You don't need battlescribe for that. You just need google. Pdfs of everything can be found on the internet if you feel like putting in 10 minutes of work.

Ragging on battlescribe because it provides an organized tool for people to use generally free of charge is pretty crap.

These are my opinions. This is how I feel. Others may feel differently. This needs to be stated for some reason.

I own the books, and don’t use the rules features of battlescribe.

But with the way GW scatters points across the codex, CA, FAQs, PA, etc, (mild exaggeration) I can’t imagine doing a list by hand these days. Battlescribe might not be perfect, but it’s probably doing a better job than I could keeping up to date.

While there might be people who use it to pirate, as was pointed out, they were going to grab PDFs off the internet anyway if they were so inclined. I’d not fault Battlescribe for that.

It provides a much needed tool, with minimal ads or a token subscription fee.

I look forward to GW’s. I hope it can match the features of BS, and keep up to date, easy to use, and no more bugs then I’d expect (which is not zero as much as we’d all love perfection). But I’m going to hold it to a high bar, as that’s the expectation from the price point they are setting. We will see once it releases.

I couldn't agree more with all of this. I hope that the existence of Battlescribe forces GW to come up with something actually better.

Any reason to believe that this new app will be any better than their last attempt to sell us army builder software?

That's a great looking cover. Bet the software was equally good

I'm not certain, but it is possible that the software was as broken as the Codex that artwork was taken from...

This is, emphatically, why I will continue suggesting nuking Guard and starting over again. It's a legacy army that needs to be rebooted with a new focal point.

Confirmation of why no-one should listen to Kanluwen when it comes to the IG - he doesn't want the IG, he want's Kan's New Model Army...

Armies and Enemies of the Imperium were pretty good for their time actually, They just weren't updated after a while and it was more focused on looks than functionality

Wow, if it was that well designed then it must have been a big seller. Hope the new app is that good as well.

I would be willing to pay the cost, double even, per month, if we were getting monthly adjustments to balance the game, maybe some new stratagems or something here or there for various factions. I support 3rd party publishers who make DnD and Call of Cthulhu content on patreon. 5 bucks a month buys me regular content, from like several guys. GW was one of the most successful companies last year but they can't just do little things to keep their various players sated, whole factions wait years for any attention. Just hire a rules writer for every faction, he pays attention to that faction alone, how well it does, if it only has a few builds, if some models don't get any play at all. He writes more than will get through, head writer approves or denies content based on balancing against what everyone else is doing, the longer term plans GW has in place, anything is too broken they don't even have to nerf it, they can just delete it, bc you know you'll get something new next month and have more than enough to choose from. Why not have like 20 different varieties of the same genestealer model, rhino, or whatever. Every player would pay for this service it'd be like netflix for wargaming rules only vastly cheaper to actually run than it costs netflix.

Do you have a quick way to sort out the formatting? The font of the titles are squashed up.
