Subject: Only one more secret from 9th edition - are there more?
So if we recall this bit of spoiler full photography
It seems we've seen almost everything from it - even the terrain features that turned out to be real models and not just terrain made by the GW team (top middle the three models in 3 states of "decay" of their outer shell).
There's also one final thing hiding behind the Monolith and walking canoptek with the gun.
A zoom and boost of contrast and we can see it seems to be one model; I'm wondering now if this is alternate weaponry for the tri-legged walkers we have. You sort of make out what might be 3 legs, whilst it has the same white face helm. Then what might be ranged weapons and then some kind of green power pack on the top of its hunched back.
Anyone think there are any more secret/hidden things out there lurking around that GW has let slip?

I think its an alternate build from the Skorpekh lord kit (when that finally happens). Three legs, two arms (though on the other side of the torso), a few bits and an alternate head.
-----
While this isn't quite the same, I hope that the Primaris Chaplain on Super bike isn't actually just the Chaplain.
It probably is, but remove the book, do a head and weapon swap and you're most of the way to a Captain, Lieutenant or even Librarian.
Looking at the model again, you'd have to have to do something with the legs, torso plate and the side of the engine block, but it would have been so easy to make it a 'Primaris Character on Bike' kit, and not set up multiple more primaris kits for people to grumble about later (or complain that they and the datasheets for them are 'missing'.

The lokhust destroyer has 3 arms too. I think that will be semi-standard for destroyers now.
There's also talk that the monoliths will be powered by c'tan. If you look in the pics it looks like there may be a canoptek unit around the sphere. Also, one monolith has death ray looking weapons. Other than that stuff, there doesn't appear to be much else.

Wasn't it mentioned somewhere that there was going to be some sort of reveal on the 25th?

I just want them to confirm new Destroyer/Heavy Destroyer kits and, if we're lucky, a separate release for the Skorpekh (or however you spell that) Destroyers.

I'm pretty confidant that the Lokhust Heavy Destroyer is replacing the current Heavy Destroyer. I would really like to see a separate kit for the Skorpekh, but since it's a single sprue with the plasmacyte, I don't think it's likely.
As someone who has never played or played against Necrons, do they have a pretty decent range now, or is there something obvious missing from their ranks?

Define "pretty decent". The codex doesn't have any egregious missing links the way that, say, Chaos Daemons lacks meaningful shooting; even the new stuff we are getting is pretty comparable in role to existing kits (the Skorpekhs fill the same sort of niche as wraiths but trade durability for killing power). Outside of whining for the return of pariahs most Necron players (myself included) would be more interested in updates to the older kits. Flayed Ones and the named characters are the big remaining things stuck in finecast hell.

Yeah, for the most part we're pretty well covered, though I would like more options for mortal wound output. The Plasmancer as is, does it a bit... but it really needs to be a bit better.
I would say most of our anti-tank became pretty inefficient once they removed gauss' ability to do it. That's been a pretty significant hole this edition. Hopefully the updated stats and parts of the new range address this in a meaningful way.
After that, we don't have any weapons that can just flat out ignore line of sight like an artillery piece.

Isn't that a character kit though (like the new slightly-better-Immortal from the Indomitas box)? Or will it do all of them? We've seen at least 3 different guns on that chassis, so I'm confused as to whether it's all one kit.

Sadly I think you might be right. Bit like the Outrider kit.

That's a good point actually. I'd love Pariahs to come back, but Flayed Ones need a proper kit.

They were announced at LVO. They've already said that they've been written. If they've already gotten all these other books printed I find it hard to believe they haven't been able to get the fw books printed as well. I think this is more intercompany politics.

I think the major two reactions to the new FW stuff is going to be:
"Why does it cost that many points???" "Where did [unit X] go???"
There is so much that FW doesn't make anymore, so I think a big chunk of what people are expecting is going to end up Legends. So temper your expectations lest the inevitable disappointment become too much. I'm fully prepared for my precious Hieodules to somehow get worse.

Well I already know that the army I was most worried about (Renegades and Heretics) has been squated, and the [unit X] I'm most concerned about (Hellforged Fellblade) is still in production, so points are definitely the issue. But how could they possibly justify making it any more expensive?

Hmm, yeah I guess infantry anti-tank would be a void to fill; since warscythes aren't good at it anymore we only really have vehicles to handle other vehicles, doomsday arks and triarch stalkers and such. Fortunately it does seem like those vehicle options are going to be a lot better this edition.

Press X to doubt a true squatting. They'll be back. They're part of the lore and ripe for a huge sweep of new models with a new vision.

Squatted insofar as Forge World is concerned.
I fully expect "Traitor Guard" or whatever silly name they end up giving them to be a proper full main-studio 40K release in the not too distant future.

My one greatest desire would be to see a new spawn kit. Please please please.

I just wanna see some cultist models with robes. Current cultists look more like unaffiliated street thugs than they do members of a secret faith devoted to a dark god.

Dollars to donuts it will be this aesthetic.

Wasn't there a faux-Latin term used for them in Vigilus?
