According to this article from Bell Of Lost Souls, all the units from the Renegades and Heretics army list in 8th are absent from the new chapter approved.

So are we going to get an overhaul or are they just being cut out permanently?

Of course they do - everyone likes Primaris Marines!

This just means that, for now, R&H have the only models cheaper than 5 ppm in the whole game.

Probably easier to accept now than linger with false hope the truth that with no models, the army is gone.

In terms of the existing index R&H army, they no longer sell the vast majority of those models. That suggests to me it's unlikely that army list will be re-tooled for 9th.

Something like "use the Astra Militarum codex but delete the following units" and then they give a list, seems like a more realistic White Dwarf-style thing. Pure speculation, I doubt that will happen at all.

IMO they're squatted. I would absolutely love to be wrong and not play my huge army as loyalists with traitor skin enabled. At the same time, the inability to use certain units always irked me, so it is a tradeoff.

Could only guess wth they're gonna do.

A WD index would be nice.

At least a start for a codex in the future (like the chaos knighs).

Yes, they owe that to those of us who have spent money on armies for R&H, at minimum.

I'd urge people to continue sending the questions on this to GW daily. The more we bug them the more they need to act.

I know they didn't seem to appear in the TOC, but that could just mean their units were in with the regular FW IG stuff, for some reason.

I mean, the answer here is less "GW deleted elysians and RnH because they squeezed all the profit and hate them" and more "Forge world has been in a state of chaos for like four years and has only just started finding its own ass again"

In all seriousness, though, you have my sympathy. Not least because I've seen how much effort you put into your R&H army.

Removing a whole army is a dick-move at the best of times. But what annoys me more in this instance is that it's such an unnecessary thing to do at this point. Yes, we're changing editions, but that amounts to little more than a glorified errata and some points changes (done, as is traditional with GW, via a dart board). Would it really have taken much effort to just change a few numbers for R&H? Most of them could probably be copied and pasted from IG anyway (though, given what they were like in 8th, you could probably make an argument that they'd already been costed for 9th ).

For all that people claim GW has moved on from the Kirby era, it still seems to be operating very much under his anti-customer principles.

The inevitable has happened and GW has Squatted a product line that almost certainly ceased to be profitable because Forge World has been barely functioning for like, four years at this point, and GW has not been inclined towards kit-bashed based armies for probably sometime over ten years at this point.

I hope that the upcoming GW FW books give FW a reboot; I also like seeing some FW properties become GW properties- I think we might see that with aircraft, for example.

I'd like to see R&H get GW treatment, rather than just go back to being a FW army. I personally still find Forgeworld to be far less accessible than GW, and I think R&H is just too important to the universe to leave it entirely in FW hands.

From what I recall, not too long ago, there was some movement in the leadership of forge world. But it's murky memories at best.
