Subject: Maelstrom and narrative missions in 9th?

So, I tried to follow all the teasers and leaks from 9th edition, but there's so much going on it's possible that I've missed it, but have we heard anything about Maelstrom or narrative missions so far? These are my preferred playstyles and it would be strange to see them gone for good.
I know Crusade is concentrated on a more narrative play but reading the missions they showed on WarCom these just sound like the old eternal war missions I never liked. So where are the missions with dawn raid or endless waves of enemies?
Also the refined Maelstrom missions from Ca19 actually worked pretty well it would be strange if they didn't feature in the rulebook anymore.

It's not strange, the rulebook is already a massive brick without everything being in it. This time around that space is taken by the Crusade stuff and missions, more will come in due time. While waiting for that, nothing prevents you from using the CA 19 missions.

Part of Maelstrom has "kind of" been baked into the new Secondary Objectives, but other than that Maelstrom is currently gone.
Might come as an expansion or addition later, but at the same time, depending on your local club, nothing prevents you from playing with the 8th Ed. cards with 9th Ed. rules.

Yeah, no problem in my group. It's really more a question of did I miss it, rather than what can I do without these in the BRB.
Leaves a bit of a bad taste though, as the 8th ed book included eternal war, Maelstrom, narrative, open, cities of Death, fire in the sky or what it's called and sieges. Though the last three only had very few basics that were later replaced by proper rules in CA it at least gave you a large framework to work with.

8th also only had missions for 2k armies. I really like the fact that 9th has missions for 500, 1k, 2k, 3k.

Does 9th invalidate any Maelstrom cards? I know 8th sunk a few of the first deck, as things like challenges were removed, and a few other game mechanics made some obsolete.
A quick thumb through my deck doesn’t show any that wouldn’t work, but I’ve not been digging into the rules leaks for 9th very hard, and don’t know about most of the army specific ones.
