Subject: Warhammer Darktide PC & console (launch Xbox exclusive) game
Just announced on Xbox games showcase.
It’s a day one addition to Game Pass for any subscribers, which is great news!
Fatshark has announced Warhammer 40,000: Darktide, a 4-player co-op shooter coming in 2021.
Set in the hive city of Tertium, players and their friends will be set against hordes of enemies based on the many threats of the grimdark Warhammer 40,000 universe.
H
Fatshark has good pedigree in this department, having previously made the Warhammer: Vermintide games.

The steam page Icon has artwork featuring what I think is an Ogryn. So the characters we see in this trailer might not be whoever we are going to play.

Yeah, it looked to me like the characters were deliberately readying a chainsword, a plasma gun etc to show different roles in the game. Though that doesn't rule out an ogryn character, Vermintide has 5 playable characters but only 4 players at once.

I have faith that it will be good.
Vermintide is like a love letter to Fantasy. The weapons are all from old Fantasy units. The dialogue is full of little lore tidbits. The dwarf, for example, often speaks in Khazalid. So if you know the lore, you can appreciate what he says. Same for the wood elf.
Even the maps are well made. It slips my mind atm, but the one DLC in the vampire castle (Drachenfel?) has the feast table with the poisoned feasters.

The key art for the title on the Steam Store has what looks like 'archetypes' rather.
There's an Ogryn with a flamethrower canister on his back, a sniper with a cloak and ork teeth on their back, a Guardsman with their rucksack, and what looks like an Interrogator or Ministorum Priest with a flamethrower.

What could they do to make it feel right?
Hmmm. I think there is more things that they could do that would be wrong. Visible light would be one thing that would be weird. Low mag capacity of 30 rounds would be another. Recoil would be another, although lore on that varies.
Lasgun is powerful enough to pop off limbs if you hit right. It is a good weapon, contrary to popular thinking.

Visible light would match the background and give players necessary feedback. I don't see them leaving that out.
Efficiency is the highest virtue.

Dakka does have White Knights and is also rather infamous for it's Black Knights. A new edition brings out the passionate and not all of them are good at expressing themselves in written form. There have been plenty of hysterical responses from both sides so far. So we descend into pointless bickering with neither side listening to each other. So posting here becomes more masturbation than conversation.

Is doesn't kill anything and slightly warms your mouse.
well in context of a tabletop maybe... where other get to shot exploding rapid fire rockets, anti livematter beams and master crafted ultra techno babble bolts
in context of a police force style sub tech enviorment, where people mostly use projectile weapons not so unfamiliar with ours... a las gun should be pretty hefty
