I'll take Deadzone-lite with a Halo reskin, sign me up. It's funny seeing this called "Deadzone from Wish", considering Deadzone v1 Enforcers were just cheap Spartan/Iron Man knockoffs. This looks a lot better than I had feared. And I'm perfectly happy with them being PVC, Mantic has imrpved their PVC figures tremendously. The PVC Dungeon Saga Origins figures were excellent, almost as good as CMON figs
I'm certainly not the ravening Halo Fanboi that I was 10 years ago, but it remains one of my favorite settings. Also, I'm SUPER happy that it isn't focused on Master Chief, I'm kind of tired of him at this point. Spartan fireteams vs other Spartan fireteams vs Elites fireteams is perfect
Oh man, that looks brilliant. I'm still very curious about the scale (Can I use Spartans with my Mantic Enforcers, now? Please?) but given that this is a Deadzone type game, that's almost an auto-buy. The BolS article claims they're "similar" to Deadzone scale, so that's encouraging! Hmm, but what is Spartan vs. Recon edition?
I agree that Deadzone is one of the best, if not the best, skirmish out there.

I would be tempted to play a Deadzone Halo game, if the entry point was the right size and price.

"By this point I'm convinced 100% that every single race in the 40k universe have somehow tapped into the ork ability to just have their tech work because they think it should."

I love Deadzone, but this, with the flatpack card terrain will make transport for a game round a mate's house much easier. I just hope they keep the price of both boxes well under the £100 mark.
Currently most played: Silent Death, Mars Code Aurora, Battletech, Warcrow and Infinity.
Thanks for posting that. I don't know why it never occurred to me but I really wasn't expecting them to make a skirmish game that mimics the vs multiplayer modes of Halo as opposed to a small scale skirmish from the story mode. My days of playing Halo both on the xbox as well as tabletop are likely over with but I wish them good fortune in the wars to come!
Seems really good value given it's a licensed game. Hoping this will serve as a good gateway game for mates who are in to board gaming but not wargaming, with the deadzone cube measurement and the Halo trappings on top.
Can anyone at Adepticon please tell me if Halo is available for sale there? I'm contemplating getting it and would love to pick it up tomorrow if I can... thanks!

It's available to play, but is not on sale. It goes on sale later this year.

You're sort of in luck mate -
Recon - £60
Spartan - £100
Deluxe Terrain - £80.00 (just repackaged hard plastic Deadzone tiles)

Since these are straight up DZ3 stats the crossover potential is significant, even if it's completely unofficial. I do love the idea of a Spartan fireteam taking down a bunch of Veermyn or Marauders.
And I know I said I'm kinda sick of Master Chief at this point, but that promo image for the paint set is amazing!

I've been thinking about this a lot, and the sole trick will be figuring out how Matt and Co value shields/respawning as it pertains to point costs. Once it is out, if we can reverse engineer that, you'll be able to properly cross-over both games!

Oh why did it have to be that channel. :-p I know beggars can't be choosers, and that Deadzone only has a few content creators... but I REALLY dislike "Coach" and as a result, half of that channels content.
I'm eagerly awaiting a proper full game played and recorded by Mantic, as their Epic Warpath stuff was awesome during the Kickstarter.

Thanks for the link kodos, I will start that video shortly. Tried the first video linked here since it popped up on my YouTube feed... and I couldn't make it more than 20 seconds in.

This game is definitely getting some traction in places beyond the normal board/miniature game circles (features in PC Gamer etc) and looks like a fun set of rules. Lovely looking minis too, hopefully it will do well.
Small heads up, but Mantic just announced that they sold through the 1000 Spartan Editions w/free Master Chief, but will honor the promotion through tomorrow. So if you do want the cool freebies you still have 24-ish hours.
Of course preorders without MC are still guaranteed through April 29th.
