Love the classic colours and very much looking forward to seeing dat gargant. Smash! Stomp!

Thanks so much! I'm trying to use the striking colors of old but also adding a few new elements (like battle damage)

AustonT wrote:Your color selection and models are on point. I’m really digging the feel you are going for. This is all contrast paint you say?

Thanks a lot! Lovely to hear appreciation! But for the battle wagon (which is airbrushed) this is all contrast paints and then highlighted by mixing contrasts with white paint (not the contrast). Contrasts + highlights does wonders!

That's because they'll soon be yellow like a brick road

Ah, Ghaz before he was reduced to a simpleton in a large robot. Good times.

Lovely collection.

Delicious work on the yellerun!

And that mass of gretchin *chefs kiss*
Is there anything more nineties orks than bright colourschemes, overly characterfull characters and a ludicrous amounts of that same gretchin with shotgun mini..?

The answer is no, of course.

Your painting does this justice too, it's delightful to see. #Second ed till I die!

Haha, right! I love these old things!

gobert wrote:Totally amazing! A seriously beaten up gargant!

Thanks so much! Yeah I love that look, may have to go over all my retro orks and battle damage them up a bit. Even if it takes away a bit of the "happy 90s" feels I do think it looks great

My next project is a Nazdreg, but in the size of the new modern Ghazkhull (so I can play it in 10th edition as well) and the model is basically a copy of the original John Blanche Rogue Trader artwork. I love this so much I want to cry!

Sorry for the poor image quality, I'll get some better ones when I've started painting it.

That Gargant is absolutely amazing the new Nazdreg looks cool but the old one is one I'm really fond off as it was released in the first WDI got my hands on one of my mates double copies. He also still stands up as an excellent model and you've done anexceptional job on him..

"But me no buts! Our comrades get hurt. Our friends die. Falkenburg is a knight who swore an oath to serve the church and to defend the weak. He'd be the first to tell you to stop puling and start planning. Because what we are doing-at risk to ourselves-is what we have sworn to do. The West relies on us. It is a risk we take with pride. It is an oath we honour. Even when some soft southern burgher mutters about us, we know the reason he sleeps soft and comfortable, why his wife is able to complain about the price of cabbages as her most serious problem and why his children dare to throw dung and yell "Knot" when we pass. It's because we are what we are. For all our faults we stand for law and light.

Oh my, what a lovelly army and a great Nazdreg.

I'm not a great great fan of the 2nd ed orks but I appreciate the dedicaion you put into this. The authenthic feel of the colour scheme is incredible. And that collection seems like a living part of this hobby's history.

Keep on the amazing work, it is a true pleasure to the eye!

OMG what nice comments! Thanks so much for all the wonderful replies!

I have recently undercoated 70x 2nd edition metal grots as well as some Rogue Trader Nobz in Power Armour (because that's what it was called back then) and we have a 2nd edition tournament coming up in January so I'm psyched to be painting toward that

We're playing 1000 points and I'm bringing this list:

Codex - Orks - Bad Moon Boyz - [1001pts]

++ Orks ++ [1001pts]
#Characters [284pts]
Nazreg Ug Urdgrub, Bad Moon Warlord [145pts]: Army Commander, Bolt Pistol, Frag Stikkbombz, Krak Stikkbombz, Power Fist, Ork Mega-Armour (Targeter), Kustom Shoota
Mekaniak [18pts]: Bolt Pistol, Flak Armour
Painboy [18pts]: Bolt Pistol, Flak Armour
Runtherd [18pts]: Bolt Pistol, Flak Armour
Weirdboy [85pts]: Flak Armour, 2x Minderz (Axe, Bolt Pistol), Psyker

#Mobs [422pts]
Bad Moons Boyz Mob [104pts]: Axe, 8x Bad Moons Boyz, Flak Armour, Frag Stikkbombz, 8x Boltgun
Deathskulls Mob [108pts]: Axe, 4x Deathskull Loota, Flak Armour, Frag Stikkbombz, 4x Bolt Pistol, 4x Kustom Kombi-Weapon
Nobz Mob [210pts]: 3x Nob (Axe, Bolt Pistol, Frag Stikkbombz, Ork Mega-Armour), Targeter (3x Power Fist)

#Support [295pts]
Ork Dreadnought [145pts]: Heavy Bolter, Lascannon, 2x Power Claw
Pulsa Rokkit [50pts]: 2x Gretchin Crew (Flak Armour)
Space Ork Battlewagon [60pts]: Squigg Fuel Injector
Traktor Kannon [40pts]: 2x Gretchin Crew (Flak Armour)

I still have to paint the artillery, the dreadnought and the mega armored nobz but that should be doable before the 18th of January
