With 100+ documents ( FAQ's, FAQ for FAQ's, Errata, FAQ to Errata, supplements, etc) that were added in 8th edition, it had me thinking it would be cool if GW had a system of sticker overlays like legacy games where the rulebook would expand/change as the game progressed, making a permanent changes to how the game is played over time. Pete the Cat said, Well, that's something new. But maybe sticker overlays instead of hundreds of additional documents could be groovy too! So rather than checking the rulebook, then checking the relevant FAQ for that rule, check to see if there were any erratas or FAQS done to the previous FAQ/errata, then check Designer's Commentary, check the supplement if any rules were overwritten, check if there were any FAQ/Errata for the supplement, etc, why not have the rules permanently changed via sticker overlays? So over the course of an edition, all of the changes that were made to the rules will stay in 1 place, all the while making money while doing it (since the stickers will need to be purchased as updates are rolled out). Is this sticker overlay something others have thought about/would be interested?

How about live-updated free digital rules like pretty much every other miniatures wargame?

I'll stick to printing pages as needed.
Even if they did make stickers I wouldn't actually apply them to the book. I'd put them on extra pages with a refference tab in the book.

You're not. If you're worried about your opponent using 'fake' rules, you're having fun the wrong way. This hobby isn't about rules. It's about buying Citadel miniatures.

I can see the benefit of the approach, but I think I'd prefer a ring binder with plastic wallets in, with the pages printed as single-sided sheets. Then if there's a change - be it FAQ, errata, commentary, or whatever - you do as ccs said, and just print a new page to slot in.

Stickers would have been a viable, useful option in the 90s and even most of the 00s. But now? Digital is absolutely the way to go.

Or for when you want to revert back to some previous rule.

Neither? It isn't 1990 anymore.
An 'evolving' rulebook can simply be a full document with a changelog.
